Old ladies with no sense of adventure
Better story, adventure, air sick bag
Made me car sick with her voice.
It's so boring and the narrator is difficult to follow.
I'm a hour away from the end and am finding it disappointing, I don't know if I'll finish. All the reviews compared it to The Hunger Games meets Cinderella...I don't see how as there's absolutely no action or adventure in this book. None. No thrills, intrigue, danger, or plot. It's The Bachelor set in a poorly developed world with a girl who's emo over a boy. But it lacks any of the drama that comes with reality TV.
Can't wait to start the next book! I love the voices for Darby and Belinda.
Unique professional funny
I loved Darby, Katherine did an amazing job with all the voices.
This is the best narrorator I've heard on Audible. She delivers the lines beautifully. Each character is robust and you get he sense that she is enjoying the story as much as the listener.
This used to be one of my favorite books when I was 13. I'd read it over and over again and wish I could be whisked away to the world of Heralds and Companions.
This is the perfect story for a young teen. It's full of adventure, it deals with bullies, acceptance, plus there are horses and magic.
She just sounded too old. It distracts from the fact that you are hearing a story about a 13 year old girl. She does do some great accents, but sadly they are rare. And often her reading sounds patronizing.
All the books in this series are so worth reading.
