This book, like all the Seth Godin I have read, heard and watched, delivers a clear and concise message to all who listen: Be a Leader - or at least give it your best shot, because we are in desperate need of true leaders.
Godin's "Here Comes Everybody" in which he clearly explains the sea change in society that not only allows, but supports grass roots efforts to a degree never before possible.
I felt he was not so much reading, but speaking directly to me. It was personal.
This book is a personal, heartfelt, yet universal message of healing hearts and relationships
The author's remarkable journey is inspiring, and his reading truly personal
There were several moving moments, but those in which the author experiences his awaking through his young daughter and adult sons were among the most poignant.
The author reminds us of the the value, and neccessity, of talking risks in ordr to grow.
Interesting insight into Africa
Mma Rotzwei represents a strong woman while the character illustrates an entire culture.
Good, measured narration with appropriate humor and tension.
The brief insights into other characters were strong and well defined and the glimpses into their lives were, at times, moving as they illustrated the complexities of relationships in the culture.
This is one of the most engaging, surprising and satisfying reads I have encountered in some time.
The entire book is memorable - from the unusual point of view through which it is written, to the masterful insights, very fine character development, moments of true comedy and extreme pathos - all elegantly interwoven around and through the lessons of racing which are so perfectly relevant to walking through life (and I never even watched a race before!) This audio book is a most unexpected find. Don't even hesitate to read it.
While the book is very well written, I am not sure I would have embraced it as fully if I had read it. In fact, I am not sure I would have read it at all. Welch simply 'is' Enzo as he brings the entire personality of the narrator to life in an astonishingly genuine way - dead on target, never overdone and never leaving you wanting. He beautifully breathes life into the characters with perfectly expressed humor, insight, empathy and sympathy.
This is an audio read I plan to give to many friends and relations.
This is one of those stories you don't want to end. While it left me hungry for more historical info or, rather, clarification of it what is historical or fictional, I enjoyed every well-drawn and excellently narrated minute.
