The narrator was able to personify each person with a vocal range that brought to life the feelings of pain, hurt, sorrow and also the deep seated turmoil evident within the psyche of the main personalities.
Unconditional love, forgiveness, family interaction and also two sisters who met under difficult circumstances, but learned to love each other and gained acceptance because of their common heritage.
Lily's reaction to meeting Christine was so heartwarming, she was so joyous as her longing to meet this sister she loved so much was finally a reality. Her dreams came true. This was my favourite moment.
There was so much heartbreak within this book, my heart was touched. But the melding of the love and joy this second family brought into the lives of the siblings made me smile and shed a few tears at the pathos of it all. It was amazing that Christine could become a part of the other family.
The characters were well developed and the story line was uncommon and gave a look into the hearts of people who vacillate and accept less than what they are worth. The author was able to bring some understanding of the why of the situations portrayed. The writing style kept the story interesting, too. To me, it was believable as similar stories have unfolded in real life.
A very poignant, emotional and sometimes heartrending love story. Deception and betrayal but love conquers all. I loved Lexi's personality, strong, spirited and sensitive to others, balanced by her extremely extrovert BFF Nicole the party hearty lady. Leo represents, all the thoughtful, courteous handsome heroes with a heart of gold who trust when they should be vigilant. As for the villain of the story, you'll find out about him....
Elena you just know how to keep the interest of your readers and listeners as they peruse the books you author. Well written, tight plot and very descriptive in your presentation of your story. A really great read
Michael Braun and Marci Fine, working in tandem, tagging each other in the narration of this audio book was just perfect. Wow...It is a good idea to have a male do Leo and Marci was just splendid as Lexi.
I would definitely recommend this book to others.
Carmen and Dillon, a memorable meeting in difficult circumstances, but destined to meet. Castle Mountain Lodge, place of dreams and majestic, beautiful, snow capped mountains where romance is in the air.
Two hearts meet, one with secret sorrow and the other with secret, unfulfilled dreams, both with workaholic tendencies. Sparks fly and ignite, souls mesh and the discovery of loving hearts that recognise the needs and heartbreak longings, of the other. Joyfully comfort and understand, that loving is forgiving and the courage to do so is inherent in both their hearts.
A talented narrator, Jennifer Drake Ford, brought the pathos of the interaction of the main and supporting characters, vividly to life by the nuances of her dramatic voice rendition.
Elena, thank you for a sweet, romantic, love story in a delightful setting, with well written and clearly defined plot that brought joy to my heart. Bravo!
A wonderful story. I have always enjoyed the old time western romances and it was a treat to find this wonderful romance by Debra Holland.
Elizabeth became a 'third wheel' in her childhood home and when the opportunity arose to have company to travel to Montana from Boston, she jumped at the prospect of starting a new life in a different environment.
A handsome cowboy named Nick, is her traveling companion...and to her great surprise, she meets a well-dressed man, when she gets to Montana and the the story gets really exciting. Lots of adventure, swings and roundabouts, but ultimately Elizabeth makes the choice that will bring all her hopes and dreams to fruition.
A wonderful romance and great interaction among friends and family. The scenery is beautiful and the peaceful countryside brings calm to a wounded heart.
The hero and heroine are outstandingly portrayed and the supporting characters makes the tale interesting and lively.
Natalie Ross as narrator gives the well written story a decided edge to the enjoyment of this western romance. Well done.
Debra your writing and word smith proficiency is as usual breathtaking and the plot is gripping. Keep up the good work.
The magic of Castle Mountain Lodge continues to facilitate and encourage romance and perhaps falling in love....This was another great read in a breathtaking setting.
Gage and Megan trapped in an unexpected situation, manage to connect on a personal level that leads to a lively conclusion.
There were great characters that you could relate to, realistic romantic challenges that are believable and interesting supporting characters added to the intriguing dilemmas that ensues.
I continue to enjoy the Castle Mountain Lodge series very much. Elena Aitken is a very good author and the story line grabs your interest, and keeps you reading and listening to the very end.
Jennifer Drake Ford also accomplishes her task as narrator with gratifying results and imbues the various characters with her special touch as a gifted narrator.
I would recommend this audiobook to anyone desiring a rewarding listening experience. Short and sweetly entertaining.
Another great book about the Grayson Brothers. This family just loves to be helpful and caring to others less fortunate and adding another "brother" to their family is just another way of giving of themselves to others. And the family togetherness is just awesome. I really enjoy the Grayson's books.
This book is a great read. The characters are strong and well developed and the story plot is just brilliant, with just enough unexpected twists and turns to keep the story flowing along and keeping the interest of the reader at peak. It was refreshing to read a clean, sweet romance and I appreciated the budding, young love of Adam and Rebecca as they grew up. I listened to the very end. Short and sweet and very heart warming giving you a feel for what is most important in life.
Julia Motyka as usual portrayed the various characters, skillfully and added immensely to the listening pleasure. I'm happy to recommend this audiobook for all persons.
Wendy Lindstrom you have a created a masterpiece and I am looking forward to reading and listening to the next book in the series.
While I liked how the story began with Cecilia struggling to figure out who she loves and I also liked the author's writing style, the way in which the characters developed was a bit confusing. At times I was a bit lost.
Ambivalent thy name is woman and so it seems are men. Basically, pretty much all the main characters kept going back and forth between loving and hating each other or being nice but then mean and hateful the next minute, loving this one now and changing their minds later. It added in some measure to carry the story to its unpredictable end with all the suspense and drama involved.
As for Ceciia's mother, what a harridan, fortunately her husband was lovely and caring for his daughter and balanced the parenting.
I particularly like historical Regency Romance, so I was interested as to how it would end. It was unique in the managing of the many twists and turns in the story line. An interesting listening experience helped along by the competent narrator.
Lucie can't make up her mind about how she feels about Frankie. She waffles and dithers over to be or not to be involved with him.
Lucie's feelings for Frankie are very complicated, but she can't seem to understand that she needs him to be there for her. Frankie is very patient because he is very sure of what Lucie means to him and he is willing to hang with her, hoping she would realise that she is meant for him. Complicated... yet assertive - and hot - and the way they both mature while dealing with the many crazy crimes is really interesting and somewhat appealing.
Walking the dogs is not just a job. She loves the dogs and understands their various personalities and is shocked at the dog nappers, amid her confusion about who is so wicked to grab her charges. In the midst of all the crimes, she manages to start a business relating to her dogs. She is full of fun and is a real feisty personality.
The narrator certainly helps to make the story entertaining by her narrative proficiency. I loved how she shouted Frankie's "Whoa" whenever he was surprised and she made it fun to listen to this audiobook
Thanks Adrienne for a really funny and enjoyable, well written book. Way to go!
Sylvia Mc Daniel conjured up a story that makes us laugh, cry and empathise with Desiree/Rose as she struggles to make a life for herself in spite of her chaotic upbringing. She's feisty and no nonsense and can stand up for herself, until Travis appears.
Travis is all for family and is so attracted to Rose but cannot entirely trust her. His Mom wants grandchildren and to see her boys married and settled, so she will stop at nothing to make that a reality and runs a scam to entice the two main characters into getting to know each other. It's a cause for mayhem and chaos in the lives of the characters, but the story is funny, with lots of laughs and all's well that ends well.
The supporting characters are well thought out and the plot thickens as the story emerges. Once you start listening you just want to continue to the end.
This book was superbly written and I recommend it to other readers and listeners.
I look forward to what else Sylvia McDaniel has to share, as this book is a 'keeper' and favourite. Really great reading.
Listening to Robin Rowan was a wonderful experience as she portrayed the various characters via her voice. I'm impressed. You go girl.
This is a real fun story that is hilarious really, really funny and laughing out loud is a given! All in all, hooray for the Grannies! I just love it... I laughed, I cried and I empathized with Lillian who kept secrets from her BFF so she could hide her supposed 'shame'. The vibrancy of Maggie and her new friends reminded me that age is just a number and we can still do things and fix things in spite of.
Maggie and Sera teamed up with another granny who took them to the limits to help Lillian when they realized she had been taken for a ride. An unlikely trio, intelligent and hands on, who were determined to stand up for their friend and bring down the culprit who railroaded her into the worst possible trouble. Risk taking was just part and parcel of this team.
Mystery, suspense and a developing camaraderie that these feisty grannies took on the road, to save Lillian when her life takes a turn for the worse. Uproarious, entertaining, I haven't laughed so much with a book for some time.
The story was great and Nancy and Kelsy did an amazing job of pitching grannies into the roles of sleuth and bringing retribution to the perpetrator. Thanks for a marvelous read. Your choice of narrator was also perfect as she made the audio book come alive.
Meet Sadie and Thadeus and renew your acquaintance with Princess Daria and Khan, and Prince Indarin and Jasmine. Excitement and nail biting suspense. Wars among evil gods and goddesses and beneficent gods and goddesses and their subjects. A tale of fantasy and epic proportions. Ultimately, the triumph of good over evil, liberation and restoration of a deposed and imprisoned sea god with the help of the denizens of the ocean and his loyal subjects of Seagem, along with the help of their other world friends.
Noah Michael narrator, gave it his best shot. He captured to perfection, the excitement, the dread, suspense and romance in this journey. I loved his narration, his voice changes for the many characters was stupendous and made the book's adventures come alive.
I absolutely recommend this gripping and imaginative series and this final book to all who would delve into their minds and envisage a world of lavender skies, two moons, gods and goddesses, both good and evil, a world where anything can occur.
Debra Holland is a master story-teller. The most intriguing, fantastic story ever. Harvest of Dreams is a fitting end to the Gods' Dream Trilogy. Your imagination is the only boundary. BRAVO!
