A group of terrorists invades the White House, driving the president into an underground bunker, where he can't communicate with his government. Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top counter-terrorist operative, sneaks into the executive mansion to take control and finds that the terrorists are the least of the president's and the nation's problems.

Rurouni says: "A good book, flawed by its audio counterpart"
"Shame this is abridged format only"
    Overall

There's so much going on in Vince Flynn novels that I really would appreciate the unabridged version to fully savor character development and plot lines more fully flushed out. This would have been a 5 star listen in the unabridged version. I won't buy any more Vince Flynn abridged audiobooks. Word.

For years, Mitch Rapp's bold actions have saved the lives of countless Americans. His battles for peace and freedom have made him a hero to many, and an enemy to countless more. In the tangled, duplicitous world of espionage, there are those, even among America's allies, who want to see Mitch Rapp eliminated. They have decided the time has come.

Timothy says: "One of the Best Stories I've Ever Heard"
    "OK, I'm addicted"

to Mitch Rapp. I need a 12 step program. I can't get enough of this character. This is my 2nd unabridged Vince Flynn in one month. (I got Transfer of Power, only came abridged, but don't recommend the abridged version. You need the full force of the entire written novel, imho.) I got this after Rush Limbaugh recommended "Extreme Measures" - loved it - and am scrambling to listen to all the UNABRIDGED Vince Flynn I can.

When John Sutter's aristocratic wife killed her mafia don lover, John left America and set out in his sailboat on a three-year journey around the world, eventually settling in London. Now, 10 years later, he has come home to the Gold Coast, that stretch of land on the North Shore of Long Island that once held the greatest concentration of wealth and power in America, to attend the imminent funeral of an old family servant.

James B says: "Brilliant Conclusion to Gold Coast"
    "I'm here to save you"
    Overall

from wasting 21 hours of your life which you cannot get back and a precious audible credit on this plotless poorly written drivel. Even the dulcet tones of Chatsworth Osborne, Jr., reading "I said" then "He said" could not bolster up this redundant opus which was surely not written by the Nelson DeMille whose writing I love. Hiss Boo. Word!
