Even though this 3rd installment in the Cynsters series moves along slowly, it does get better. I love all the Cynster roguish men especially Richard (Scandal). He is a warrior without a cause, strong and determined but, he doesn't let his strength over power his wife Catriona, who is strong willed and think's she doesn't need a strong man. In reality that is just what she needs to balance out her life. In today's world, it is so hard to find your soulmate but that is what Richard and Catriona have found in one another. So keep listening and enjoy their everlasting love..
I am not a suspense kind of listener/reader but I must admit to enjoying every portion of Her Royal Spyness.
I found myself laughing out loud throughout the listen.
Very enjoyable and worth the credit.
If you don't want to become obsessed with Scottish highlanders, James Alexander Malcolm McKenzie Frazier and Claire Elizabeth Beecham, I highly recommend you stop before downloading this book.....Want too proceed, okay, don't say I didn't warn you...
I absolutely love every book in this series. I've listened to them so many times and I even purchase the paperback versions.
Both Claire and Jamie are real to me in so many ways. The love, true, deep, unending love they have for one another is something I want in my life. Jamie understands what it means to make a vow and keep it, even if it means putting his life in danger. Claire has such a big heart, she believes she can make a difference in people's lives, that conviction alone gets her and Jamie into many amazing adventures and scraps...
Jaime even had to beat Claire's behind with a belt because of her ignorance and hardheaded ness.
Oh and by the way, you will also learn about history including the dates. Diana Gabaldon has the ability to bring you into any space in time and plant your feet firmly on the ground in that period, when you return to your time period, you lose your footing. The feelings and emotions follow you for days after you finish the book.
Davina Porter narration of the series is awesomely amazing. You never get the characters confused nor do you lose the flow of the story, cause Davina bring life to each person and you feel the hate or the love they portray.
Hope you enjoy the obsession as much as I have.....
Duncan's grandfathers, one Scottish and one English, both are meddlesome control freaks. Add the two together and what do you get? A whole lot of trouble, unwanted and unneeded. Sabrina on the other hand is dealing with a nut in the form of Ophelia Reed who is making Sabrina's first season horrible. Somehow, love, and we all know LOVE will concur control freaks and nuts, eventually find a way to bond Duncan and Sabrina together.
Submitting to someone's will is a most difficult pill to swallow...Rush made my blood boil, I had an attitude and was even arguing with the characters in my head, because of that fact, I like this book. Escapism, is that even a valid word, who knows, but I did escape into the world of bondage and submission..
Listen or don't listen, the choice is up to you, after all, how can I make you submit to my advice when I have a problem with submission...
Do you remember that saying from childhood? Oh what a tangled web we weave, if at first we try to deceive....Ophelia Reed was never taught not to lie as a child but will she learn that lesson as an adult?
Beauty can take you only so far in life, you also need compassion, understanding and love to take you the remainder of the way.
If you want to know if Ophelia's evil ways and incomparable beauty prevented her from achieving her dreams, then I recommend you downloading The Devil Who Tamed Me...
Let's pretend this never happened...I laughed so much throughout the entire book. Even had to hold my mouth while in the office a couple of times. The deer suit, oh my, even typing that phrase takes me back into Jenny Lawson's world.
Jenny narrates her own book, too which, I am grateful, because it is her life story. The post it note argument had me in tears of laughter.
Jenny manage to teach you life lessons through laughter. If you need a good laugh and can handle profanity, then you will enjoy this book. Jenny really does curse a ton and she warns you in the beginning of the book..
Overall, it is worth the credit. The only bad part...the book ended
I admit it, I don't like this book. I down loaded An Absolute scandal based upon the reviews alone and I paid the price with the loss of brain cells. I couldn't even make it through 2/5 of the book. Very disappointed...all the different family situations couldn't bring me into their world. I listen, or read books to escape for awhile, this book, however kept me firmly planted it reality...
To what length are you will go to in order to find the perfect husband or wife for yourself? Amanda Cynster is 23 years old and tired of waiting. Amanda and Amelia (twin sister) hash up plans to snare, if you will, that perfect someone. Amanda decides to skirt the lines of propriety and frequent establishments, no lady of good breeding should frequent. With the unwilling aide of her childhood friend Reggie, who escorts her to the gaming hall, there Amanda gets into trouble and is in need of a hero a knight in shining armor. Decker is the only one willing to come to the rescue, all the other men in the gaming hall wanted to have a taste of Amanda viewing her as a sweet morsel. By the end of the first night/morning in the gaming hall, Amanda knew Martin Fulbridge Earl of Decker was just the man for her; she even dubbed him her lion. Martin on the hand thought he would never lay eyes upon Amanda ever again after that night in the gaming hall but he didn't know he had a Cynster determined to have him. As we know, what a Cynster wants a Cynster gets...and Amanda is no exception even though she is a female...
My take away...If you are tired of waiting for your dream man or woman to come and find you, by all means, go out and find him or her. After all, that person just might think they don't deserve true happiness.
Space Sci-fi isn't my normal genre but I decided to give this book a try. I am surprisingly not disappointed. Stephanie is a spunky young lady who befriends a cat, but it isn't just any cat, it's a cat that can read mines with other sphinx. They are highly intelligent and once they choose a "human" soulmate, it's for life.
It is worth the credit in my humble opinion.
