Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

The only reason that I stuck with this book despite the poor writing and whiny narrator was the fact that I was actually interested in learning about Job’s life and Apple. If you are similarly interested, I would recommend this book, but only because of the knowledge you will gain from reading it and not because it is an enjoyable read. I also highly disliked the narrator’s whiny voice. I suspect that this product would not be worthy of Job's praise.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Among the great literary achievements of the 20th century, Lolita soars in audio thanks to the incomparable Jeremy Irons, bringing to life Nabokov’s ability to shock and enthrall more than 50 years after publication. Lolita became a cause celebre because of the erotic predilections of its protagonist. But Nabokov's masterpiece owes its stature not to the controversy its material aroused but to its author's use of that material to tell a love story that is shocking in its beauty and tenderness.

In my humble opinion, this is a true masterpiece. The imagery conjured up by the author in such an usual way is simply amazing. True, the content is uncomfortable at times, but the writing is so wonderful that you oftentimes forget the subject matter . The fact that this book is laugh out loud funny at times is astonishing for so many reasons. Lastly, I doubt that anyone could narrate this book better than Jeremy Irons.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

First, let me say, I adored the Hunger Games. This book is not as thought provoking or as complex as that trilogy, but it is more addictive. I simply couldn't put it down. I loved the relationship between Beatrice and Four. In fact, I adore Four. It is gripping, exciting and sometimes even funny. Read it!!! The narrator is great too!

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

    Story

This was a delightful book that I suspect is better to listen to than to actually read. I could not stop listening and finished the entire book in a few days. The story was compelling and contained lots of laughs, and, of course, tears. The narrators of Minnie and Abileen were absolutely wonderful. I didn't particularly care for the narrator of Ms. Skeeter as she sounded too young for the part and also her voice lacked emotion. However, despite this, I would highly recommend it.
