I truly enjoyed this book and I loved the way that Lady Erica and the Bishop worked together as a team. This book opened my eyes to how conniving some church people can be and the situations that arose are realistic. I thought that this book would be too churchy but it was not at all like I expected. I have read Lutisha Lovely books and they didn't keep me as captivated and wanting to read on like this book did. Good book and the characters fit perfectly.
I was so excited for volume two and I wasn't at all disappointed. it was RAW, uncut and totally had me sitting at the edge of my seat. I loved the narrators and the different dialects amongst the characters. Dante is a menace and his sidekick SB are reeking havoc in London. This book had so many twists and turns I'm still in awe of everything that happened. Of course my favorite character is Ghost and she did her thing in this book she was a true misfit right alongside with the help and training of Trigga. If you like unfiltered street literature with graphic details this book is for you. Good job and I give this book 2 thumbs up. They were BAD to the bone in this book.
This duo's storytelling tactics are simply amaing. My favorite story was definately the first story. Kiki Swinson always finds a way to keep you wanting to know more. I surely didn't expect what happened to happen. I felt as if I was watching a suspense film and knew what to expect and at the end I had no idea, good job Kiki. The 2nd book was also captivating and full of action and suspense. I did get a little lost at one point in the story, but not to the point where it threw me off what was happening in the book. I would suggest these authors work as wonderful masterpieces to add to my street lit collection.
I liked this book and was real into it. I loved the characters and their connections according to their back stories and why they ended up where they were at. There are characters you want to see die and characters that you really feel close to. To me the most effective character was Trigga who was a menace that put fear in you cause he would kill you in the blink of an eye, but throughout the story I felt close to him. I learned that LOYALTY is only given to those who have proven themselves loyal, and at the blink of an eye that loyalty can turn into hatred. My favorite character would definately be Gina. I can see why RaeRae aka Diamond would become attached to this character like she did. Dame was a beast and oh so raw and controlling but so was Trigga when it came to controlling the important things that were planned. The sexual content and brutality was well written and had me clenching my teeth and breathing hard like OH NO, OH NO! I loved the Narrators they were perfect. All in all this book was a good one and I will be ready for the next volume.
This book was a little different twist from what I am used to reading from this author. Very suspenseful and lots of drama and mystery. I didn't really care for the story though. The characters were strong and the plot was well defined. It took me a lil more time to get into this story and complete it because I felt as if the story dragged on and on. I like Meesha Mink and will continue to support her work, but this story just wasn't for me.
Mike O, Ohhhh, Mike O! What else can I say but you are so wrong for leaving me hanging like this. I want more! This story was very well developed and you get to know the characters and their strengths and weaknesses. The description and sexual content in the book were well written and filled with imagination. What I like most about this book is the many real life topics you see the characters go through. This book actually has opened my eyes to what is going on in the minds of our youth and the things they deal with in their young lives. I also like how the author helps the readers put the puzzle pieces together so that you know the back story and the importance of some of the characters and can recognize their roles in the story. Lashone Garth is a good narrator and did ok but I think Celeste Graham would have did an awesome job too. I suggest this book to all my urban literature friends you won't want to put this one down. I can't wait for the sequel to see how the characters lives turn out based on everything that we now know. Good Job Mike O you did that and I want more!
This book was a pretty good read because the narrator did an awesome job performing, but the problem that I am having is identifying who some of the charcters in the book are. There were so many names thrown at me in the beginning that I got lost in figuring out who's role was who's. It seems to me there is a lot going on under the surface that we are left to wonder about and there are things that we really don't know and trying to put together. In some scenes I found myself asking Ummmmm who was that she just called or who the hell is this person and did I hear his name before. I am rereading this book again to figure out who some of the characters are again and what role did the play from past to the present. Who was who's mother and who really is the lady who was following Koko. I was lost trying to figure out a lot of things that I guess the reader is suppose to realize, but I never realized what I was suppose to. I had more questions than answers. Wahida Clark books are action packed and fun to get in to and I applause the author for buidling a good story in the mean time. I would read another book like this but would suggest the author reveal a lil more instead of making us wonder on the things that I had questions on.
What I liked about the book was the suspense and the story line. What I didn't care too much about was the length of the book. I gave this book a try to find something new and it just wasn't my favorite. Although this wasn't the best book I have listened to I know my fiancee would like this book. If you like books about scheeming, con artists and trickery this book would intrigue you.
This book was a great read. The narrator was good and the story line was pretty good. What I liked about this story was the way that Zane was able to show how friendships can go from all good and in the blink of an eye turn all bad. Your friends the people you learned to love and have a loyalty towards can become your worst enemy. I can't wait to see the play version of this book and fall in love with the characters that Zane created. Good job ZANE!
I simply love the way that KiKi Swinson can put a story together. This book was a wonderful example of story telling and it captured my attention. Today's audience is so into the drama of things that happen on television, we never realize what happens during the taping of shows like Real Houswives, Basketball Wives and television shows like wife swap can have a major impact on the characters real lives. When we watch these shows we see what kind of people these are, you can only play a role for so long and after enough time goes by true character gets revealed. The grass isn't always greener or maybe it is with some folks. I always ask myself is the money worth me opening up my life to world. This book was a great of example of how money can ruin what you have to live for. In this book I found myself loving and hating the characters. My favorite thus far was was Trice and it's not just because I am a Trice myself but because the title of the book says it all "Wife Extraordinaire" and that is exactly what she is. The narrators did an excellent job bringing life and action to their words. This book actually helped open my mind to what would I do if I were in each of the characters shoes. I even asked my fiancee those "what if" questions to see if he would do the same thing that Troy did throughout the story. This is a great read and 2 thumbs up to Miss Kiki for this book right here.
