A group of terrorists invades the White House, driving the president into an underground bunker, where he can't communicate with his government. Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top counter-terrorist operative, sneaks into the executive mansion to take control and finds that the terrorists are the least of the president's and the nation's problems.

Rurouni says: "A good book, flawed by its audio counterpart"
"It doesn't get any better than Mitch Rapp"

Another terrific novel by Vince Flynn. Well written, narrated and an intriguing plot. Let's hope it remains fiction

Very early, 4:45, on a bitterly cold Minnesota morning, three big men burst through the door of a hospital pharmacy, duct-tape the hands, feet, mouth, and eyes of two pharmacy workers, and clean the place out. But then things swiftly go bad, one of the workers dies, and the robbers hustle out to their truck-and find themselves for just one second face-to-face with a blond woman in the garage: Weather Karkinnen, surgeon, wife of an investigator named Lucas Davenport.

    Erin says: "Entertaining & Edgy"
    "Sandford Delivers Again"
    Overall

I couldn't disagree more with some of the reviews I saw regarding John Sandfords' most recent book. I found it entertaining and I think Richard Ferrone always does a good job with Sandford novels. Lucas Davenport is always terrific and that f*&^ing flowers is too. I can't wait for the next one. If you like the Prey series, you will like Storm Prey.

    Story

In the richest neighborhood of Minneapolis, two elderly women lie murdered in their home, killed with a pipe, the rooms tossed, only small items stolen. It is clearly the random work of someone looking for money to buy drugs. But as Davenport looks more closely, he begins to wonder whether the items are actually so small and the victims so random; if there might not be some invisible agenda at work here. Gradually, a pattern begins to emerge, and it leads him to...certainly nothing he ever expected.

Sheryl Baumgart says: "Another great read"
"Lucas Davenport is alive and well!!"
    Overall

I anxiously await every John Sandford novel and this one did not disappoint. Davenport is terrific and the book will keep you wearing your headphones late into the night.

Another terrific Brad Thor novel. His character Scot Harvath is right up there with Mitch Rapp and Sean Drummond.

Ripped from today's headlines, Brian Haig's new novel finds Army lawyer Sean Drummond caught between duty to Washington's elite and the soldiers in Iraq. Dispatched to investigate the suicide of one of D.C.'s most influential defense officials, an ardent, early supporter of the war in Iraq, Drummond and his female partner find themselves in the middle of a tug-of-war between Washington's most influential power brokers and his own personal allegiance to the soldiers dying overseas.

Sherri says: "Where is Scott Brick?"

I enjoyed Man in the Middle. While it was long and the plot at times was complex the book kept me listening and engaged. I also felt like the narrator was great. No issues here. Get this one. You won't be disappointed.

No one knows the dark side of "The Street" better than master storyteller Stephen Frey, author of such riveting novels as Shadow Account and The Day Trader. Now, in his most ambitious work to date, Frey proves that no writer can put a high-powered hero at greater risk, nor offer readers more thrilling rewards.

    J. Anderson says: "Excellent!"

I enjoyed this book. It has a good pace, the author knows his subject and can spin a good yarn. I have read all of his books and this is one of his best.
