Not even death can save her now. As a grave witch, Alex Craft can speak to the dead---she's even on good terms with Death himself. As a consultant for the police, she's seen a lot of dark magic, but nothing has prepared her for her latest case.

I just LOVE this book! It is one you can't put down once you start it. Did a search on audible and did not find Part 2, so I guess that is yet to come. Can't wait.

The story line is well written. Reader does a great job.

Once again, the game is afoot . . . What really happened in Switzerland between Moriarty and Sherlock Holmes in 1891? And why is Holmes, now in London at 221B Baker Street, curiously uncooperative with Scotland Yard’s inquiries? Furthermore, why has Moriarty planned a grand meeting with the international crime syndicate? These are the questions that make up the larger mystery of the sinister Professor Moriarty’s return.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to a friend if they were not avid Holmes fans. I found this book to be too heavy on narration and not enough exchange between characters.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

No it did not. I do not think it was because of the story line though.

What three words best describe Robin Sachs’s performance?

    Perk up Robin.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The Return of Moriarty; An Explanation: Sherlock Holmes' Nemesis Lives Again

    Any additional comments?

For the whole first section of the book, the narrator was to humdrum. Most of what he read was without stress where needed, or not enough stress. I might be feeling this way because I am spoiled. I have read MANY books where Susan Boyce is the narrator. That lady has spark in her voice.

  • The Devil and Sherlock Holmes: Tales of Murder, Madness, and Obsession

Each of the dozen stories in this collection reveals a hidden and often dangerous world and, like Into Thin Air and The Orchid Thief, pivots around the gravitational pull of obsession and the captivating personalities of those caught in its grip. There is the world's foremost expert on Sherlock Holmes who is found dead in mysterious circumstances, an arson sleuth trying to prove that a man about to be executed is innocent, and more.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I don't think anyone would enjoy it more.

What was most disappointing about David Grann’s story?

The title misrepresents the book. To mention Sherlock Holmes in the title, one would, when reading the title, expect to find out of 12 stories, at least 25% of Sherlock Holmes.

So the author adds some short quote from Holmes stories...!!! This does not give the right to represent the book as ...and Sherlock Holmes".....

Which character – as performed by Mark Deakins – was your favorite?

This question does not compute when you consider this book had 12 stories in it and I was looking for Sherlock Holmes stories.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Devil and Sherlock Holmes?

Anything that had nothing to do with Holmes, so 95% of the book would be cut.

    Any additional comments?

Don't waste your money if you are looking for Holmes stories.

Tod Hudson was a typical teenager. He liked girls, sports, food and tolerated his younger brother, Nash. In fact, he had his whole life in front of him--and due to his bean sidhe heritage, it was going to be a very long life indeed. And then the car accident occurred.

In July 2004, Barack Obama electrified the Democratic National Convention with an address that spoke to Americans across the political spectrum. Now, in The Audacity of Hope, Senator Obama calls for a different brand of politics: a politics for those weary of bitter partisanship and alienated by the "endless clash of armies" we see in Congress and on the campaign trail; a politics rooted in the faith, inclusiveness, and nobility of spirit at the heart of "our improbable experiment in democracy".

This short excerpt shows me why I can still safely hate Obama.
I would not personally enrich his pockets with my money by buying this book.
