Yes, Berg has always been a go- to author for me.
Yes, her books don't always leave me breathless, but they are solid for entertaining me.
Yes, but her voice is older than I picture the characters in my head.
No, I think she summed them up.
Fun, Smart, Thoughtful
Bossypants by Tina Fey - they are both brilliant women with a creative view of the world. Their childhood and family experiences are similar.
Yes, I often sat in my driveway listening until people looked outside wondering why I was in my car.
I think so. The narrators and their accents add so much to the drama of the story.
Use male narrators instead of the females trying to sound like men.
Their voices were very "in character" with how I pictured their subjects.
Things are never what they appear.
The wonderful women in this unique town and timeframe. Cecilia was saved by these ladies. Theme was beautiful.
I enjoyed Mrs Goodpepper's personality the most.
She is just amazing.
I just hated the father so much.
I have never had a desire to hear a book a second time.
The Chaperone was similar.
I could not stand when she narrated the voice of Molly.
They didn't develop the characters well enough
I wasn't a fan.
Performance was sufficient.
Probably, to see Toby
I found the crush on the uncle "odd". I could not grasp why she was so appealing.
I was not terribly fond of narrator at first. I grew to really appreciate him.
There were several, but I guess the ending because it blew me away.
The scene where he met his father in prison.
No better name.
Yes, I love Degas paintings. I love ballet. I love historical fiction. Great combo!
The ending was by far the best. I won't give it away.
No, this was my first but she is amazing.
Something about sisters.
I loved Cora's story. She was an example of how women have changed in America, for the better.
It really spoke to me when she was at the air conditioned luncheon and then realized the woman was raising money to oppose birth control. Cora was such a lady and I loved how she left, dropping quarters into the jar for the poor.
Her voice is just magical to me.
Yes it was.
It was a good book. It does not go into my list of favorites, but I enjoyed it.
The love interest with the handy man.
She is just wonderful. I could listen to her narrate every book.
The time frame that she had no idea what happened during her blackout (car was wrecked, kid was missing)
