The story was wonderful however the narrator was not good. She mispronounced many words i.e. privacy. The characters were hard to distinguish because the narrator was just not good.
I would recommend the book and unless you are visually impaired not invest in the audiobook. I have no choice as I do not read braille.
The story was a wonderful continuation of the previous books. Can not wait for the next one. I hope this helps. D
At first I wasn't pleased with the. Narrator however, once I really started to listen she matched the story line. This is a must have for epic fantasy readers looks to be a very good series.
Finally, a book where Kayla has found a home. To me It was a FINALLY as far as this series. I love how she tried to reason with the emperor. Looking forward to the next installment.
I have read and re-read all of this series. Unfortunately, due to an accident I am blind and audio books are my only option. The narrator of this book ruined the story. She was flat, no changes in voice between male and female characters, some how she even sounded bored. All great books need good narrators. I give the book a 4.5 and the narrator a -3.
I enjoyed the wrap up of the multiple story lines. Was a little disappointed with Camwin's story but others more than made up for it. I would recommend especially if you are a big fan of the series.
I have been a huge fan from the first Green Rider. This book takes you in a direction that while dark and dangerous does not mitigate the preceding books. While I wasn't surprised of the setting (K Britten) alluded to it several times she did a Great job. I would like to see a happier ending for Kagerigan [sic]. Alas she is the Nobel, tragic heroine. Can not wait for the next installment.
As a side note I love the fact Kirsten Britten is a fellow New Mexican.
This book actually show growth and plot. It is not just about hooking up and staying closeted in bed. Although, that does happen. I was very glad to see the development of Wick and also start getting some background for the characters. Makes understanding the "war" more believable. Looking forward to the next book. Hope there is much more character development. The first two were just too he man (beat chest, me Man you woman).
This series just draws you in. Before losing my sight I read every book published. Unfortunately, there are a lot of titles in audio that are now unavailable. This is the 3rd book I have listened to with the same narrators. I have to say that the man needs to be replaced. His voice is just not compatible with the series. He makes everything sound rude and crude. Hope she writes a more believable book than book 16 next.
This was definitely not the best of the series. I fail to see any real growth for Kaylin and am very disappointed in her constant contact and association with Nightshade. He is everything she despises yet she is somewhat attracted to him. Her desire to leave Nightshade and her childhood behind has become more and more wishy washy. Personally, I would like to see Nightshade replaced. Severn is a much more pivotal character and would like to see more character development. Have loved the series and will get the next book. Hopefully, it will track better. D
This books was a slight departure from others that I have read by Patrica Briggs. I was not disappointed. I found that, although it was a little melancholy at times, for the most part it kept you entertained and engaged. Like most of Briggs books there is a ton of magic and supernatural. In fact, I was was just checking to see if there was a serial. I had read complaints about the narrator using a fake accent. I have listened to a lot of Jennifer Jane Bradshaw and while she does have an accent it sounds more Canadian than anything. Doesn't bother me at all. Hope this review helps! D
