This touching and uproarious novel by author Paul Murray made everyone’s best fiction of 2010 lists, including The Washington Post, Financial Times, Village Voice, and others. Why Skippy dies and what happens next is the mystery that links the boys of Dublin’s Seabrook College (Ruprecht Van Doren, the overweight genius obsessed with string theory; Carl, the teenager drug dealer and borderline psychotic; Philip Kilfether, the basketball-playing midget) to their parents and teachers in ways that no one could have imagined.

    Laura says: "Funny, touching, entertaining"
    "so sad"

I feel foolish for wasting any time on this sad attempt at writing a novel

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper. Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light”. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all.

    S. Droski says: "Great choice for Stephanie, Lorelai or Buffy fans!"
    "waiting for the next book"

wow! It has been awhile since ive been this pleased with a book. I will be anxiously awaiting her next!

  • Port Mortuary: A Scarpetta Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 32 mins)

In this fast-paced story, a treacherous path from Scarpetta's past merges with the high tech highway she now finds herself on. We travel back to the beginning of her professional career, when she enlisted in the Air Force to pay off her medical school debt and found herself ensnared in a gruesome case of what seemed to be vicious, racially motivated hate crimes against two Americans in South Africa.

    Terry says: "once again angry"
    "a true time killer"
    Overall

this was the most confusing book I have ever read. If you did not afready love Kay Scarpetta you would not get past the first few chapters before giving up. I kept thinking eventually it would make sense but for the first time I was awfully disappointed, bored and as I said very confused.
