The book had more substance than I thought it would so I gave it a good rating.
I enjoyed it. It took me a bit to get used to the narrators' accent (English) but then I enjoyed it even more. You learned a bit of history of New Zealand and it's people as well.
It took me a while to get into in it but then it got better--narrator did not help. I was hoping that they would go back to Amy Rubinate as the narrator. I still will read the next in the series--want to know what happened to the others in the group.
I purchased this and the second in the series at a good price so I was not so upset. I thought it was a little unbelievable at times. Maybe this would have been better narrated by someone else. I kept thinking as I listened to it that the narrator needs to be reading a mystery novel not Romantic Suspense as this was labeled because he does have a good voice, just not for the series.
I'm not going to get the next one in the series.
Great Series!! I've enjoyed the whole family, small town, everyone knows everybody. Never realized that a hero would go through so much but it happens. I look for books narrated by Amy Rubinate. She can changes those voices so well.
I look forward to Connor's story. Not sure if he is next but I am going to keep looking for KH's next book.
I do believe I am going to ask for my credit back. No and No.
Thoroughly enjoyed it! Suspenseful, The main character thought about her decisions Surprise twist that I never caught until it happened. Narrator can make a book, JD did a great job also. I will look for other books where he narrates.
The book was good but not my favorite SEP. No matter I am waiting on her next book already. I am going to listen again to make sure I am judging it right.
But you know what is missing is a narrator that can pull off a punch line. Amanda Ronconi would be so great. I have suggested it more than one time, but they aren't listening.:) While Erin Bennett (much better than the previous narrator) was good, I still miss Anne (may she rest in peace) so much (she was the original narrator of her SEP books). She could pull off SEP's sarcastic punch lines and have you laughing out loud. No matter I am waiting on her next book already.
I suggest to the powers to be to get Amanda Ronconi to narrate the next SEP book--hope it is soon.
Not worth the credit. I don't like to speak bad about the narrators but she did not do a good job at all.
I enjoyed, but I think it went too extreme especially towards the end. But when you think about it psychos are ridiculous in what they can think up so maybe not as extreme as I thought. I will say there was a great twist in the book that I did not figure out until we found out the actual person was. I do think the narrator got a little tired of it close to the end-maybe he should have taken a break in between--just kidding. Don't think he was a bad as some of the other reviews were.
I am still debating as to whether I will get the next in the series, but know I am not going to go straight and get it. Going after something calmer first.
Good series. Romance scenes were good, although sometimes you got the impression that they did "it" every singe day they were together and we know that is not believable. I enjoyed how the narrators were broken up and they both did a good job. I heard one opinion that they thought that the male character sounded a little nasily (? spelling), but I thought they did a great job--everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am sure I will download other books from Ms.Cates and look for other books narrated by these two.
