If you were a fan of popular music in the 1960s and early '70s, you were a fan of the Wrecking Crew - whether you knew it or not. On hit record after hit record by everyone from the Byrds, the Beach Boys, and the Monkees to the Grass Roots, the 5th Dimension, Sonny & Cher, and Simon & Garfunkel, this collection of West Coast studio musicians from diverse backgrounds established themselves as the driving sound of pop music - sometimes over the objection of actual band members....

Lee says: "Familiar names to any 70's rock fan"
    "Simply outstanding!"

What made the experience of listening to The Wrecking Crew the most enjoyable?

The many different stories of some of the greatest musicians of our generation were carefully weaved together in this highly inspirational book. Never a dull moment. Unlike many other books written about musicians of this period I found myself not wanting the chapter to end.

Dan provides an excellent resource around much of the latest research out there for finding enlightenment. He presents the material in context with his own life and his personal trials and tribulations providing essential comic relief along the way. And as a natural investigative reporter he does so without bias.
If your looking to find ways to hep enhance your own life this is a great first starting point. From here you can determine what might work best for yourself and then begin a deeper dove.
Well written Dan. Never once lost my interest.

This national best-seller chronicles the true story of two brothers coming of age in the Henry Horner public housing complex in Chicago. Lafeyette and Pharoah Rivers are 11 and nine years old when the story begins in the summer of 1987. Living with their mother and six siblings, they struggle against grinding poverty, gun violence, gang influences, overzealous police officers, and overburdened and neglectful bureaucracies. Immersed in their lives for two years, Kotlowitz brings us this classic rendering of growing up poor in America’s cities.
