Powerful entertainment from the crime fiction superstar who combines riveting authenticity with witty, elegant prose. Best selling author Kathy Reichs "keeps the twists coming, and by the novel's climax, she has skillfully interwoven her many subplots and red herrings into a satisfying puddle of sex, sleaze, greed and gore," says Publishers Weekly.

I like K Reichs books and this is my first audio. The story line is interesting and believable, but now that I think about it, I really enjoyed the narrator. She made Tempe Brennan come alive and gave her some personality. In any event, I like Reichs and I enjoyed this audio.

  • The American Civil War: A Military History

For the past half century, John Keegan, the greatest military historian of our time, has been returning to the scenes of America's most bloody and wrenching war to ponder its lingering conundrums: the continuation of fighting for four years between such vastly mismatched sides; the dogged persistence of ill-trained, ill-equipped, and often malnourished combatants; the effective absence of decisive battles among some two to three hundred known to us by name.

What did you love best about The American Civil War?

This is well written and informative, and a great addition to your Shelby Foote narrative. I was OK with the accented narrator mis-pronouncing some American locations. If you are interested in being taught about the Civil War, this is a very good book.

  • The Civil War: A Narrative, Volume III, Red River to Appomattox

In the third and last volume of this vivid history, Shelby Foote brings to a close the story of four years of turmoil and strife which altered American life forever. Here, told in rich narrative and as seen from both sides, are those climactic struggles, great and small, on and off the field of battle, which finally decided the fate of this nation.

This three volume narrative of the Civil War is simply outstanding. It is expertly written combining Union and Confederate war operations as well as political positions from both points of view. Worth every moment.

  • Dreamcatcher

    Story

A dark and sweeping adventure, Dreamcatcher is set in the haunted city of Derry - the site of Stephen King's It and Insomnia. In it, four young boys stand together and do a brave, good thing, an act that changes them in ways that they hardly understand. A quarter-century later, as grown men who have gone their separate ways, these friends come together once a year to hunt in the woods of Maine.

    "Tough to listen to"
    Overall

If you are considering this title as your first for S King, you might want to reconsider. This is the second attempt I made on a S King novel and I won't do it again. In all fairness to the audio, the narrator is very good and enjoyable to listen to. The story however, is torturously long and scattered.
