I love every one of the books in this series.
This was the first of the Witchcraft Mysteries that I listed to as an audio book.
While it sounded much different than I had been hearing it in my head, I loved being able to listen to the word pictures being presented.
Each story in this series gives us not only enjoyment but also teaches us without being preachy or dull. I am fascinated by the detail Juliet Blackwell includes in her novels.
Lily Ivory runs a vintage clothing store, and also offers accessories to complete the vintage look and feel for her customers. She searches high and low to get the best deals and best merchandise to offer her customers, who become dear friends.
Part of lily's magical powers are to feel the energies of past owners in clothing. In this novel, jewelry takes the spotlight role.
We also learn more about the mysterious Aiden, the most powerful male witch in the Bay area. As such, he has his share of enemies.
And we have a rare closer look at Lily's father.
This is a page turner and keeps the reader involved and wondering until the very end.
She has a wonderful, versatile voice.
I wished I could have listened all the way through at one time.
I know I will listen to and enjoy it again.
All books in this series by Juliet Blackwell are an automatic MUST BUY.
I love her Haunted Home Renovation series too, and have enjoyed other books she has written.
I liked the way the narrator differentiated characters with her voice.Especially those lines sounding surprised. It was nice to hear more from characters we met in the first book in this series.
When Jessie as Tessy tries to convince Goldilocks that as a police officer she must take action. Also Jessie's relationship with her mother.
Playing with PoisonEqually enjoyable
Going Dark Undercover
This can be listened to as a stand alone, but listeners will also enjoy the first book in ths series. It is a light, humorous read about good friends who watch out for each other.
I loved the audio version. Her voice could not have been better.
It was dark and twisted.
My favorite character changed throughout the story.
Jessica gave a distinct personality to each.
Marcus wrote them very thoroughly and interesting.
It was too long for me to finish it in one sitting.
This took several days.
I liked it a lot, but I have listened to many really wonderful audiobooks.
The competition is strong.
I liked how the sisters got along well but each has her own talents and strengths.
I also want to know more about the cat's history.
She was easy to listen to.
I think a few of the male voices needed more differentiation,
Sometimes it was a little difficult to identify who was speaking.
Watch your back.
I am not sure how safe I would feel with a boyfriend who used me as a decoy or bait.
Thank goddess for sisters.
I would listen again.
I enjoyed the narration. The story was very interesting.
I would like to listen a second time to see if I pick up clues I may have missed.
It is a toss up between Loretta and Sam.
They both have qualities that make them stand out.
Sam is a puzzle to be solved.
Loretta is a determined woman trying to provide for her family.
Each has history to overcome.
The scenes and circumstances were well written. I could easily picture them.
The truck stops and diners, the deserted roads and falling snow.
The knife fight scene was one where I would not put the book down until I knew how it would end.
Being a longer book, I was unhappy when I had to set it aside and go back to real life.
I always wanted to know what was going to happen next.
I would recommend this to both genders and ages from high school up.
To those who like crime and mystery, and even though there is romance, it is not overpowering.
Exciting witchy hotness
There are several wonderful characters, and I hope I get to read more about them.
Mara is the main favorite. She takes what life throws at her and tries to make the best of it and keep moving forward.
Overall her voice is soothing, easy to listen to.
I like the way she has distinctive voices for different characters, making it very easy to follow the action.
I was not expecting some of the adult situations.
I really did appreciate the narrator's voice. It is ideal for this type of violent dystopian story.
The things that happen to Gus at the hospital are difficult to get out of one's mind.
This is the first but I would like to hear more.
Is it worth the risk?
Don't be stupid.
Violent, Vulgar, yet well written. Those who like zombie stories and the Supernatural tv shows may appreciate this story. It is not for anyone with a sensitive stomach.
I liked the way the narrator read this book. Her variations in vocal tones made the characters easy to identify.
I listened to the Audible version of this book. I enjoyed the narrator very much. She did a great job distinguishing various voices.I read a lot of cozy mysteries. What appeals to me is the quirkiness of the characters and the weird situations they find themselves in. In the Cueball Mystery series, Cindy Blackburn offers many of the things I appreciate. She has many quirky characters for us to get to know and does a wonderful job of keeping them straight and fresh in our memories. As the story unfolds we learn more about the background of each person and how their lives intertwine. The action is swift and keeps the readers on their toes. Suspects are plentiful. So many had motive to do away with the wheeling and dealing, insulting Stanley.I enjoyed this book and look forward to starting the next in the Cueball Mystery series.
It starts out with a well written scene of Stanley dying on Jessica's couch. There are other good scenes with the bumbling news crew. When the action comes to a climax on the roof you'll be holding your breath.
I was listening as I was doing housework. There were times the story was getting so involved I had to stop and focus.Throughout the book I had several suspects for the crime in my mind.
I appreciated the bits and pieces we heard about the book Jessica is writing. It made me smile as I heard the behind the scenes of a writer's life.
I would recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys ghostly tales or spooky stories to share with friends.
I listened to it on a rainy afternoon which was the perfect atmosphere.
My favorite story was the Witch and The Banshee. Of all the stories it seemed the most complete and I would enjoy revisiting it, perhaps hearing more.
Each of these spooky stories has its own virtues.
Every one was satisfying.
She had the proper amount of emotion and fluctuation to keep my full attention.
I appreciated the variations in vocal quality she gave each character.
She gave them personality.
I would love to spend time with the Snarky cat!
There are several characters I could pleasantly have a quality conversation with and enjoy their company.
This was an enjoyable way to spend a rainy afternoon.
I had intended to listen as I was doing household chores, but I really enjoyed the stories and the narration, so I sat back with a cat on my lap, a couple dogs at my feet, and enjoyed being read to.
I enjoyed both the story and the narrators voice and interpretations
The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagwa
Bones of Faerie series by Janni Lee Simner
Forever Fae series by L.P. Dover
I liked learning how Victoria grew as a person, how she found her strength
The descendants of the Fae left behind still wait for the return of the Seer’s and Guardians.
I tried to listen to this as I did other projects around the house but I found this story needs to be focused on.
