Doc Landis

joyfully addicted ! I may be a late "joiner" of this medium, however it has allowed me to re-open a door I woefully assumed had closed.

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 41 mins)
    • By Mark Tufo
    • Narrated By Sean Runnette
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Together with Yorkshire terrier Ben-Ben and former archenemy Patches the cat, Riley struggles to keep the zombies at bay while helping her favorite human, Jessie, as they travel cross-country, dodging pepper paint balls and taser blasts from the evil, misogynistic Icely and his band of thugs. Now this motley mishmash of mammals are running for their lives.

    "3 kinds of..."
What made the experience of listening to The Book of Riley: A Zombie Tale Pt. 3 the most enjoyable?

I loved every moment of the first three books, with the 3.99 download special from audible after we purchased the Kindle edition. So, I have to tell you, that I think it is 3 kinds of bullcrap that you hold the last book out for full price, after luring us all in with the special price on the first 3. Shame on you

Would you be willing to try another book from Mark Tufo? Why or why not?

    see above

Have you listened to any of Sean Runnette’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Runette is good, Audible sucks

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

yes, the moment I realized that Audible was going to try to soak me for full price on the last book.

    Any additional comments?

    kiss my rose red arse.

  • FREE: Deadlocked 1

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 13 mins)
    • By A. R. Wise
    • Narrated By Brian Sutherland

David was caught in the middle of the city when the zombie outbreak started. His wife and daughters were at home, stranded on the roof as zombies waited below. He would have to fight through hordes of undead, merciless other survivors, and a series of death defying stunts to get home. However, even if he makes it there, how can he be sure they're safe?

    "Over-priced series"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This series is a good enough story to enjoy, but the practice of breaking up what should be one or at the very most two books into a series like this is nothing short of price gouging. Shame on the publisher, and the author. You just lost one reader, as well as many of the hundreds that read my reviews on this genre.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It should be ONE BOOK sold for a fair price instead of chopping it up for more money. I will not be reading the remainder of this false "series".

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

    Marginal performance. Almost dead-pan.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

It sparked my outrage at being jabbed for more money.P.

    Any additional comments?

    P.T. Barnum said it best...

  • The Remaining: Fractured

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 28 mins)
    • By D. J. Molles
    • Narrated By Christian Rummel
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The Camp Ryder Hub is broken. Lee is nowhere to be found, and his allies are scattered across the state, each of them learning that their missions will not be as easy as they thought. Inside the walls of Camp Ryder, a silent war is brewing, between those few that still support Lee's vision of rebuilding, and the majority that support Jerry's desire for isolation. But this war will not remain silent for long.

Mike Naka says: "incredible continuation of a great series"
"Like a season finale without a promise for next .."
What did you love best about The Remaining: Fractured?

Love the development of the characters, and the authors fearless method of knocking them off.

What did you like best about this story?

Some resolution, but many old, and new issues left un solved

Which character – as performed by Christian Rummel – was your favorite?

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Tomorrow never comes

    Any additional comments?

A full compliment of foreshadowing with no promise for if and when the next installment will arrive.
