Not really, you got a true insight into the daughters thoughts and lives.
Yes it would make a good story - chick flick
If this the first book in the series, it was a great start.
First time I have heard Davian Porter. She gave a excellent patrial of the characters, although towareds the end sometimes I felt her voices sounded very similar to the other.
I could have listen to this in one sittling if time allowed.
I knew nothing of Eleanor of Aquitaine before I read this book. This is a very interesting story that lives up to the saying 'Behind every great man is a great woman'. It was informative, you learnt some interesting facts without any effort. I also loved the use of the period slang.
The Lady Elizabeth: A Novel had a similar feel, which is not surprising considering it is a the same genera.
All the characters were great.
It is a very long book, but I did listen to most of it in one weekend.
I will differently be listening it again during my holidays.
I would recommend this to a friend, but suggest they only read after a signficant period of time if they had read previous books in the series.
It was a good story, had great flow, just enough historical fact to make it interesting, the relationships worked well, and the storyline kept you listening.
No, I it was a pleasant voice, and his interperation was great.
When reality hitted the main character.
Yes, I think I would listen to this story again. It is a great story to fill in a few hours. It has a nice flow.
I thought the ending was rushed, I am not sure if this done on purpose as it does open up the opportunity for a second book.
The were many scenes, and some made me laugh out loud.
I did listen this in one sitting, and it would do it again.
I don't think I will relisten to this book, because I have two Whodunnits on my player. Then again, you whould never say never. I wouldn't object listening to it again in a year or two.
I did enjoy trying to out wit the players of the game and a number of times I did. I personally love Whodunnits. I wouldn't buy them myself, but as a freebie I am thankful of the gift.
I love this narrator. His voice not only brought the characters alive but every detail of the story. I perfect choice.
Ticked all boxes
I stumble onto this book and I am pleased I did. Yes, it is a part of a series, but it was a complete story. It read at a good pace. You can't help be drawn into the lives of the characters and be swept along with the story. I have already relistened to the story three times now.
It was a very pleasant to discover that MacLeod Andrews was narrating. He would be one of my favourite reader, and he didn't disappoint this time.
The whole book was full of points that made me laugh and provide a good level of suspense.
I read this during a 8 hour car ride and because each chapter was like a shortstory, it didn't matter that I was interrupted many times. The stories were a mixed bag, some made me laugh and others I fast forward.
Yes the narriation matched the pace of story.
The authors advice was rather good, and written in a non-threatening way.If I needed to go onto a dating site, I think I would use some of his tricks.
I have already listen to this book again, because the author and I are of the same age. Her descriptions of the different decades found me thinking back to the 80s, 90s and 20s.
I wouldn't normally choose this type of book, and don't have anything to compare it too.
I am please I did, thank you Audible to this freebie and I looking for more books by this author.
She made you beleive that it was her story and not the authors.
Yes, I would read another book of hers.
To many moments to list.
Just a really good story and moved at a good pace.
