The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter backlist lights up the night. In her eighth adventure, Anita Blake can't turn her back on a former lover during the full moon. Especially since he's behind bars - and he's a werewolf.

Vicki says: "Loved book - audio is ok"
    "Great listen"

I really liked this book. The storyline moved along and it really developed the relationship between Richard and Anita. I loved the new characters too.

How the mighty have fallen! Once a sworn enemy of all vampires, Anita is now the human consort of both Jean-Claude, the Master Vampire, and Micah, the leopard shapeshifter. But her love life doesn't stop there. It can't. For Anita - not quite as human as she once was - is consumed by both the lusts of the vampire and the primal hungers of the wereleopards. Desires that must be sated - time and time again.

Kimberly says: "Why did they change Narraters?"
    "Not great, but OK"
    Overall

I definitely don't like the new narrator for the series. Strange pronunciation and not good with character changes. Made it harder to listen to than the earlier books in the series. The story itself was good, not great. The addition of some new characters is interesting, but the series is slowly starting to go downhill.

Vampires have officially "come out of the coffin", and Miss Sookie can't wait for one to come her way.

This was a great start to what turns out to be a super fun series. I picked this up after reading all the Twilight books and I must say, these are better. The characters are fun and the storyline is entertaining and keeps moving. If you're a true vampire novel buff (Anne Rice, etc) they may seem a little to light, but for a fun entertaining read I would highly recommend this book (and the whole series)!

As consultant to the Regional Preternatural Crime Investigation Unit, Anita's called in on what appears to be a case involving a serial killer - a vampire serial killer - who may be preying on strippers. She's sure that none of the local vamps are responsible - but her judgment may be clouded by a conflict of interest.

masino says: "Anita Blake XXX, book 11-13 waste of time & Money"
    "Series is going downhill . . . . quickly"
    Overall

I have loved this series from the beginning, but tihs book was NOT good. There was very little story and way to much sex. Nothing wrong with a good sex scene, but please add some storyline too. The characters were so good in the previous books that the overwhelming number of sex scenes was unneccessary and truly detracted from what was a great series.

New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris has re-imagined the supernatural world with her "spunky" (Tampa Tribune) Southern Vampire novels, starring telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse. Now, for the first time, here is every Sookie Stackhouse short story ever written - together in one volume. The stories include "Fairy Dust", "One Word Answer", "Dracula Night", "Lucky" and "Giftwrap".

A User says: "Good read after Sookie's series"
    "Fun"
    Overall

This is a fun little collection. I love the series, so these shorts were good. This is the perfect narrator for this series. Although I cringe at the Eric/Bill voices she does, she is exactly what I pictured Sookie's voice to be.

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare, woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point.

Angie says: "I couldn't wait for the audio book"
    "Another great book"
    Overall

Another great book in the series. Beware though, it's a little darker and not quite as geared toward the younger reader. Although my daughter read the first 3 books, I think I'm going to try to hold this one back for a year or two. I'm not crazy about the "Jacob" narrator, but overall it was a good listen.
