In the 70s when this type of writing didn't have a place on a book shelf in the store,Terry Brooks was starting something that he now knows was part of history. I read this when it first hit the stores in the 70's and I've listened to it again now and love it even more. This his LOTR beat all over with many pains. Wow, what a trip. I've enjoyed the entire series.
Doggone dog on ! Cesar Millan has captured the hearts and minds of dog owners throughout the world. His charismatic charm and dog smarts has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Heart felt comments of a personal level has to make you a believer by the end of this audio book. The narration was great though there were several stops and shudders in the flow of the speaker electronically speaking. Something must have gone wrong during the recording. Great info on dogs and on Millans personal life.
If every person of power in this world read this book there would be no more wars, there would be no more hatred or disagreements because people would be caring and know how to help not hurt. Wow, what a great way to be, now, in the moment, not tomorrow, not yesterday, not even 10 minutes ago, just in the now
This is what people of all ages can relate to in our imaginations when we are really honest with ourselves. We all have this place in our minds that have the ability to become, to become someone outside our real life we can never be. But what a blast it is when we have someone to help us believe. Someone who has the power to be our guide to a beautiful world of another time and place. So we have great authors like Kathryn Lasky to fill that void for us, and for that I am very grateful. We live in a world that is so serious and uncaring to our neighbors, yet we are put to ease when a writer of her caliber is there for us to take away the unnatural way that this world would have us believe. This way we have somewhere to go and someone to be a hero for and to be able to care for others in that special way. Thank you Ms. Lasky and please except my humble appreciation.
Cesar Millan is the greatest thing since the napkin. He has taken the concept of mindfulness and brought to the animal world. Just in time too. I have used mindfulness skills to keep my own life in order and I was quick to see that he too has read Daniel Goleman's books on Mindfulness skills, or as Cesar puts it, " staying in the moment because that's how animals live everyday ." Cesar then applies this staying in the moment thinking in his work for people to better understand how your dogs mind functions. He also breaks it down for the " people " to be able to get a clear message on what and where they need to be in their thinking when their with their pets in various situations. When talking to people in his seminars Cesar is using his mindfulness skills all the time to keep the people in the moment with him. He will save not only dogs in his life but many many people too. Spread the word Cesar Millan. Denise
I could listen to Jon Kabat-Zinn and Daniel Goleman for hours. They have this banter that keeps you interested and the topic of course is what keeps all of us in the world. I mean keeps us " in the world." Keeping yourself in the moment is what keeps us out of the Doctors office, listen and find out for yourself.
Great job Guys and keep-um comin'.
Daniel Goleman would save the world if people would just listen to this most compelling idea of Emotional Intelligence. Just by the examples he give of how we react to everyday things is do dead on in all the ways we make life harder for ourselves just because we don't take the time to stop and smell the roses. By the way Alfonso, that is the message. " stop and smell the roses and do it by and taking your time so you can enjoy the moment,' BE in the moment of your life every second of it. That way nothing great gets past without you noticing it. Great job D. G. The Best to you as always,Denise
Absolutely one of the best from Matthew Reilly. Love Scarecrow and his men, they keep the edge throughout the entire story. Now that I've read it and listened to it I have enjoyed Matthew's writing even more. Looking forward to man more. ***** stars
