Combining the drama of The God of Animals with the powerful realism of Chosen by a Horse, award-winning poet Jana Harris tells the inspiring story of her twenty-four-year relationship with a troubled but beautiful, blood-red feral mare who, in spite of her difficult past, has a talent for healing and helping every human and other being she comes into contact with.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Enjoyed the beginning and the premise of the story, however it began to languish with too many mishaps and elaborate equine veterinary details....

I actually looked forward to getting in the car and hitting the highway at commute time. This was such a good story. The sincerity of the relationships and the commitment to family was just beautiful. In such a difficult way of living, the characters were dedicated to help one another get through every challenge their situation presented them.
