Lily Ellis has curves - soft, beautiful curves. The kind of voluptuous body she fears Travis Carson, the man she's always loved from afar, would never crave. But Lily is about to be proven wrong. Her adventure begins when the demure San Francisco interior decorator agrees to model a plus-size dress for her fashion designer sister. Watching this sensual beauty move down the runway, Travis can't believe it's the same Lily he's always known - and always rejected. In a whirlwind of electric attraction, Lily is soon moaning Travis's name in his bed, not just in her wild fantasies.

This is the first in the popular series featuring California investigator Kinsey Millhone. She's 32, twice divorced, no kids, an ex-cop who likes her work...and who works strictly alone!

I used to read Sue Grafton's A-Z books several years ago and always enjoyed them. I have really been enjoying audible books, so I thought I would try the first one, since it had been so long since I read it the first time. All I can say from here is that the narration ruined the book. I'll go back to reading if this narrator does any more.

Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

The character of Liz/Abigail was stilted and a little irritating, and the first few chapters were hard to get through, In fact I slept through several chapters. However, when I woke up, it was at a place that was so interesting I couldn't quit listening. It turned out to be a very good story. Now I will have to go back to the beginning to get it all, but I won't mind listening to it all this time.

On a rainy Southern night, Jade Sperry endured a young woman's worst nightmare at the hands of three local hell-raisers. Robbed of her youthful ideals and at the center of scandal and tragedy, Jade ran as far and as fast as she could. But she never forgot the sleepy "company town" where every man, woman, and child was dependent on one wealthy family.

Tough story line, good execution. While you know what the end is going to be, it gets there with a twist. Enjoyed it.

Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out - with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro.... As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be - except for in her love life....

What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings good voice inflections to the characters.

    Any additional comments?

The first two books of this series were kind of slow and boring, but this one held my attention and made me giggle. Ryder is the most interesting of the characters.
