Would you listen to This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein again? Why?

I would listen to this book again because the gradual change of the main characters personality and passion is very well written.

The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

    N. Houghton says: "Gothic Horror Never Sounded So Good"
    "Best performance and story ever!"

What did you love best about Dracula [Audible Edition]?

I've listened to nearly 100 audiobooks these last few years and this one is by far my favorite fictional story. It is extremely well written and performed.

The authority of the Syndicate Worlds’ government is crumbling. Civil war and rebellion are breaking out in many star systems, despite the Syndic government’s brutal attempts to suppress disorder. Midway is one of those star systems, and leaders there must decide whether to remain loyal to the old order or fight for something new.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If he started the book with a bit more action instead of characters talking and sending messages to each other.

What was most disappointing about Jack Campbell’s story?

It never took off. It was like watching a fictional documentary.

McCullough's John Adams has the sweep and vitality of a great novel. This is history on a grand scale, an audiobook about politics, war, and social issues, but also about human nature, love, religious faith, virtue, ambition, friendship, and betrayal, and the far-reaching consequences of noble ideas. Above all, it is an enthralling, often surprising story of one of the most important and fascinating Americans who ever lived.

    Davis says: "An outstanding biography"
    "Good book, terrible narrator ."
    Overall

I couldn't finish this book because you can hear the saliva of the narrator every time he opened his mouth. Was way too distracting.
