  • Deeply Odd: Odd Thomas, Book 6

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Dean Koontz
    • Narrated By David Aaron Baker
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

How do you make sure a crime that hasn’t happened yet, never does? That’s the critical question facing Odd Thomas, the young man with a unique ability to commune with restless spirits and help them find justice and peace. But this time, it’s the living who desperately need Odd on their side. Three helpless innocents will be brutally executed unless Odd can intervene in time. Who the potential victims are and where they can be found remain a mystery. The only thing Odd knows for sure is who the killer will be: the homicidal stranger who tried to shoot him dead in a small-town parking lot.

    D says: "Odd Once Again"
    "Ho Hum!!"
What did you like best about Deeply Odd? What did you like least?

I Like the character of Odd Thomas he is engaging and funny, But also the stories are becoming quite predictable, seems like Koontz is mailing it in for a paycheck lately.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I'm not an author so it isn't my place to make suggestions on how to make it more enjoyable.

What three words best describe David Aaron Baker’s voice?

David's voice is good on audiobooks he is very likeable.

Could you see Deeply Odd being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Sure it would make a good miniseries maybe but the story might become predictable pretty quick or at least repetitive.

    Any additional comments?

I used to wait for Koontz's next book with baited breath, but recently they haven't really got my attention. What happened to the guy who wrote the bad place, who scared the beans out of you?

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (30 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By Stephen King
    • Narrated By Craig Wasson

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Kelly says: "I Owe Stephen King An Apology"
"Sucked Right In!! SK is the BEST!!"
Would you consider the audio edition of 11-22-63 to be better than the print version?

I Never read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

SK's ability to make you love his characters!!

What does Craig Wasson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Craig Brings genuine emotion and flawless transition from one character to another.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely was taking the long way everywhere!!

    Any additional comments?

  • In the Woods

    • UNABRIDGED (20 hrs and 23 mins)
    • By Tana French
    • Narrated By Steven Crossley

As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children, unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.

Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when a 12-year-old girl is found murdered in the same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox find themselves investigating a case chillingly similar to the previous unsolved mystery.

Dottie B. says: "Very mixed feelings (semi-spoilers included)"
    "What A great first novel!!"

I have been an Audible member for a couple of years now and this is the first review I have written on any book. Tana French was an unknown author to me, I selected her book by the length not content. I was very pleasantly surprised by Tana's first book! The story was a real page turner (if there were pages). The characters, plot, and story line were all A+!! Congrats to Tana on her first effort! I'm going out right now to buy her last book and actually read it!! Sorry Audible!!
