Thomas Ward is the apprentice for the local Spook, who captures witches and drives away ghosts. As the weather gets colder and the nights draw in, the Spook receives an unexpected visitor. Tom doesn't know who the stranger is or what he wants, but the Spook suddenly decides it's time to travel to his winter house, Anglezarke. Tom has heard it will be a bleak, forbidding place, and that menacing creatures are starting to stir somewhere on the moors nearby.

If you could sum up Last Apprentice in three words, what would they be?

Great book, great series, great narration. Not for kids at all in my opinion!! Really dark and the further you get in the series the darker it gets. Please read before letting your kids get into this series. Great for adults though!

"My name is Kvothe. I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep...."

  • Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.

Would you try another book from Seth Grahame-Smith and/or Scott Holst?

    No

What was most disappointing about Seth Grahame-Smith’s story?

There was nothing to it, just random jumps from one exploit to the next. Very little character development. It felt very rushed.

Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Holst’s performances?

    Maybe

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter?

The trouble with this book could not be solved by cutting out a few parts. What you would need to do is give the idea to someone who knows how to write, like Patrick Rothfuss.

    Any additional comments?

Wait for the movie to come out as it will probably be better then the book. I didnt think I would ever say those words but I feel like they will prove true.
