The two-time Hugo Award-winner expands the universe of his Coyote saga. The danui, a reclusive arachnid species considered the galaxy's finest engineers, have avoided contact with the Coyote Federation. Until, that is, the danui initiate trade negotiations, offering only information: the coordinates for an unoccupied world suitable for human life - a massive sphere, composed of billions of hexagons.

A User says: "An awe inspiring saga."
    "Is this a teen novel?"
    Overall

Though the concept was interesting and well though out the characters seemed way to impulsive to be believable. It seemed each conflict was caused by stupid decisions no rational, let alone a seasoned spacer, would make. I enjoyed the Coyote series but this was not one of Allen Steele better works.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Gaiman’s not just an award-winning author, but a narrator who earns rave reviews – and fields requests from other authors to perform their books, too! Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead....

Truthfully I didn't notice this was for kids when I download it. I'm glad I did, it was a very good book. Several times I would stay in the garage to listen after coming home from work.

Since their publication more than two decades ago, the initial six books in The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant series have sold more than six million copies and have been published in 10 countries around the world. Now, starting with The Runes of the Earth, Stephen R. Donaldson returns with a quartet of new Covenant novels that are certain to satisfy his millions of fans, and attract countless new followers.

Malcolm says: "Better in Audio Format"
    "Pick the Abridged"
    Overall

A slower book I have not listened to in a while. The story was good through the 1/3 I made it through, but the endless build up to any progression of the main character was tediously slow, and then the drone after the event was even worse. My mind drifted so many time I had trouble listening.
