I have been reading Ian Fleming's James Bond adventures since I was ten years old. I am now just short of sixty. Needless to say, I have read each and every of Bond's escapades, and I love them all. This audiobook brings a whole new style and life to the adventures. I already have recommended this audiobook to all of my friends who like to read, but most importantly, I referred the whole "Audible Manager" program to my friends who DON'T like to read.
To me, the most memorable part of Moonraker, takes place in the pub, when a Nazi screams "Heil Hitler!" before he shoots a patron, and then takes his own life with his Luger.
Bond is always a good read, but it's an entirely different experience when you are listening to Simon Vance. Within minutes, you are in the story, and the narrator becomes part of the room with you but not a distraction. Simon Vance IS Ian Fleming, and I can't imagine listening to Bond without him.
When a large part of the cliffs began to break off, Bond stretched his body over the girl, to protect her from the falling boulders that one of Sir Hugo Drax's men hoped would crush Bond and the girl.
It's so very easy to kick back and enjoy Moonraker being read to me by an extremely good narrator, Simon Vance.
