The story line. Fannie Flagg has a great why of weaving you through a story, and just when you think you know the story line it takes a sudden twist which grips you even further.
Norma - she was so pure and simple
The sewer pipe and flood.
It made me reflect on my own life which had similar situations.
Cynthia Darlow does yet another excellent job in capturing your attention with her interpretation of the characters in this book.
The dead bodies in the dancing Santa bags.
Enjoyed her voice as Sissy
Sissy, she was such a sassy character and as the story line progressed you change your attitude and perception of her.
Write a sequel!
Funny, Sincere, Reflective
Eating Brownies and Drinking Champagne!
no - but she was great in this book!
Small town life will never be the same again when this bee flys into town!
Yes - just a comical story of crazy women in Buckhead.
Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews
The confrontation of the ex-wife with the future mother of the bride.
I work in downtown Birmingham - Fannie Flagg allows me to travel back in time and visualize where I work the way it used to be.
The truth about the mystery in the attic
That great southern accent and ability to make you believe that the main character is reading the book to you.
Fannie Flagg needs to get this made into a movie just like FGT at WSC!!!!!!
Yes - it allows you to escape and relax as if you were actually in the story.
Savannah Breeze - by the same author - another great MKA must read!
Yes - just as good
Surf, Sand, and Mayhem make you want to check into this Summer Rental
The story line is good - but the narrator is depressing and horrible. I would pass on it.
Again, this is another great story by Mary Kay Andrews, but this audiobook was a disappointment. First, I would recommend the audiobook if you want an abridged version to a MKA story - you will not be disappointed.
However, if you are like me and enjoy the back story to the typical MKA book then you are going to want to throw a hissy fit on this one. I REALLY wished that you were offered to buy the abridged or unabridged version of these books. If that is not feasible then MKA books really need to be unabridged. The back story provides so much information.
Isabel Keating who narrates a majority of the MKA books usually is great in bringing the story to life. However, this reading left me exhausted because it seemed to be read rapidly and over emotional.
My review seems to be negative, and that is not what I am trying to be, but I am now buying the book version and having to read it to answer a lot of my questions about the characters.
Mary Kay Andrews has really created a great book in Spring Fever. The characters in this book come to life in the audio version. Kathleen McInerney's reading of the book allows your mind to drift right into Pacoe! North Carolina. I hated for this book to end. Without a doubt the character of Pokie added the greatest humor in the book. I would love for Mary Kay Andrews to do a follow-up book like Savannah Breeze did to Savannah Blues. I cannot wait until 2013 for her next book.
