Julie Garwood is always a hit with me. I love how clever Peyton was with her slimy boss. And was on the edge of my seat when she was driving through the snow storm. Finn is a hero, even as a teenager. As always with it being an FBI thriller. This book has suspense, drama, & humor. So has it all as far as I am concerned.
Sorry Kristen Ashley you may have lost a reader for this series. In the past because of your good story lines I have over looked the offensive drawn out sex scenes. But this slave and master sick stuff just doesn't cut it. All it does is piss me off big time. That sucker would be a dead man. And a weak heroine just makes me want to throw up!!!! As for the narrator Savannah Richards goes. This is not a good enough book for her to read.
This is not a book for me to listen to in public. Because I laughed until I cried, at the antics of these characters. Take one dippy Mother-in-law ghost. The low life cheating Father-in-law. A low life gambling husband who is in hiding. One scientist, along with a DEA agent a mystery to solve and the antics begin. This author was unknown to me until this book. But do think we may become close friends. The narrator is a kick to listen to, good job Johanna Parker.
D.D. Ayres is a new author for me but I will be looking for the next book in this series. This was a really good book with lot's of action and a very well done story line. Loved the dog in this story. "Bogart" is a K-9 who fell in love with Shay, who rescued him from being put down. Of course thinking his partner has been stolen James track's them down. Spark's start to fly when he find's them. Jeffrey Kafer did the narration and it was excellent. He is perfect for this kind of book. Sure hope D.D Ayres used him to narrate the next book in this series.
Wish this could have been longer but was good anyway. Love the little town of Keeneston and all of the character's. This was the beginning of what became the Davies family. Jake and Marcy are such wonderful parent's in the other book's that it is neat to hear their story. Wish I could have jerked Marcy's mother bald headed. In fact her whole family were nitwit's. But as in most cases she became stronger. Even ended being a better person and parent than they ever thought of being. I am chomping at the bit waiting for your women of power series to be put on audible.com Ms. Brooks! Do hope Eric G. Dove narrates them also.
I found this book to be very informative. I love anything to do with the outside and the animals that live there. Wolves and their habits especially are extremely interesting to study.
As for the PTSD both of these main character's and other's have to deal with is more than mind boggling. The torture of this Navy nurse was almost more than I could stand to listen to. I am so glad Lindsay McKenna didn't drag it out any more than she did. Don't think I could have stayed with it otherwise. Grayson McCoy was a wonderful hero in my eyes. He is a dream for any woman, wish I could have found someone like him in my life time. As for Anthony Haden Salerno's narration? I found it to be perfect! Great job Anthony Haden Salerno. Ms. Lindsay McKenna You also did a great job on this book.
Could not give this book 5 stars. Because I feel to much of the other book's story lines, was used for filler in this book. And this story could very easily have stood by itself. If Ms. Brashear had used more dialog and action to show Pen solving the problem with ex lover's wife and her law firm. Also would have like to have had more of the story on Bridger's sister Molly and other sibling's. Still an ok book if you haven't read some of the other's.
I am in full agreement with the reviewer "Judi of Vancouver!" If the word eek or the word shish hadn't been thrown at this listener so many times. This book might not have been so bad. But good grief I almost wanted to pull my hair out from them being repeated so many times. If this had been the first book I bought by this author it would have been the last. Due to the amount of action she keeps pulling me back to her books. I could do with 1/2 of the sex scenes but can deal with them by pulling the ear plugs out until there is something worth while to listen to again.
While a fan of Catherine Coulter I find these last several book's far to unbelievable. Lot's of action, which is great. But the violence is way over done, for my taste. Reads like a Sherlock Holmes in modern times. Maybe the next book will be more down to earth. Love the main character's but was sorry not to have Sherlock and Savage in more of this book.
Wow, didn't know how this was going to turn out. Susan's AKA Rachael's ex husband was really one nutty jerk. Every time he was brought back into the story line. I'd cringe and think what in the heck is he going to do. This is the first book I have read by Lindsay McKenna. So don't really know if I like this style of writing. However I am giving another of her book's a listen. I really like suspenseful novels but this one was a little to close to a nightmare for my taste. Still in my opinion it was well done.
As a rule Susan Elizabeth Phillips writes humorous stories. This one is somewhat of a mystery with not as much humor in it. Actually I found it took me awhile to really get into the story. But was very glad I stayed with it. There were twists and turns in who the real villain was going to end up being. Along with the little mute girl and the hand puppet's. Will I listen to this book again? You bet I will. Erin Bennett did a great job narrating as well. If you are looking for another laugh out loud story? Do not buy this one. If however you would like to read a good light mystery? This Book is the one to buy.
