  • More Napalm and Silly Putty

    • ABRIDGED (2 hrs and 28 mins)

A companion to the best selling Napalm and Silly Putty, George Carlin's More Napalm and Silly Putty picks up where the original left off, with more laser-sharp observations, tough questions, philosophical musings, linguistic legerdemain, and inspired weirdness in these unabridged excerpts from the thinking man's comic - and three-time Grammy winner!

    Charles says: "Entry-Level Carlin"
    "That's Carlin"

Half the time I was thoroughly entertained and the other half I was trying to decide if I was truly offended. Hey, That's George Carlin!

  • The Time Traveler's Wife

    • ABRIDGED (12 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Audrey Niffenegger
    • Narrated By Maggi-Meg Reed, Christopher Burns

    (2591)
    Performance

    Story

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six. They were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry was thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future.

Herve Bronnimann says: "My Favorite Audiobook so far"
    "Captivating with no loss ends"
    Overall

I enjoyed this book tremendously. This book, like Piers Anthony's "Bearing An Hourglass", keeps the reader wanting to know more. I love how this type of book brings up some occurrence, leaves that subject entirely, then comes back to end to tie up all loose ends. What a wonderful way to spend 12 hours. With my busy life as a Chemistry teacher, it took me the full month to find time to listen, but it was well worth the hours spent on it. I've already done a search on Audible to see if there are any more books by this author, but none were found as of today.

  • A Walk in the Woods

    • ABRIDGED (5 hrs and 58 mins)

    • Narrated By Bill Bryson

After 20 years in Britain, Bryson returned to the U.S. and decided to reacquaint himself with his native country by walking the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine. This is his humorous, inspiring account.

Jeff says: "Wonderful book, but hardly abridged"
"Worth Listening to Over & Over & Over..."
    Overall

Needless to say, I'm hooked! Not sure if it's that his voice that is so pleasant to listen to or just the fact that it's darn, good, writing, but I enjoyed every moment of this book. Now I'm getting the paperback! I am also ordering one of his other books. I can't wait to start it. It's such a wonderful way to relax after a hectic day at work.
