  • The Sharing Knife, Volume 3: Passage

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By Lois McMaster Bujold
    • Narrated By Bernadette Dunne
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Filled with magic, heroism, and all-too-human characters, Bujold's Sharing Knife saga is both a gripping adventure and a poignant romance.

The farmers and riverfolk have long distrusted the power of the mysterious and aloof Lakewalkers. The proud Lakewalkers, meanwhile, have exiled Dag after learning of his marriage to Fawn, the first outsider to be bound to a Lakewalker in their magical way. But as Dag's natural Lakewalker ability to manipulate "ground energy" begins to develop in dangerous directions, he and Fawn realize that big changes are ahead.

Neale Blackwood says: "The quality keeps coming"

I love "The Sharing Knife" books- they are engrossing and entertaining. I have never enjoyed fantasy books- but Lois McMaster Bujold is a master. The characters are endearing and soo lovable. I highly recommend these books.

  • Jessica

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 2 mins)
    • By Bryce Courtenay
    • Narrated By Humphrey Bower

Jessica is based on the inspiring true story of a young girl's fight for justice against tremendous odds. A tomboy, Jessica is the pride of her father, as they work together on the struggling family farm. One quiet day, the peace of the bush is devastated by a terrible murder. Only Jessica is able to save the killer from the lynch mob: but will justice prevail in the courts? Nine months later, a baby is born...with Jessica determined to guard the secret of the father's identity.

Robert says: "Jessica is a hidden gem!"

This is a rare gem. This story is heart breakingly beautiful. The characters are alive- the narrator does an excellent job identifying their personalities. This is not usually my cup of tea- but I couldn't put this book down- it was engrossing and enchanting.

  • The Darkest Night: Lords of the Underworld, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Gena Showalter
    • Narrated By Max Bellmore
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member - a man trapped in a hell of his own.

    Amazon Customer says: "Keep Trudging..."
    "Narrator kills me!"

The book is very entertaining- the narrator reads in slow-motion and pauses at odd intervals- it was extremely off putting. I had to listen to this audio book is segments so that I didn't go crazy.

I am looking forward to adding more of this series to my collection- unless it the same narrator who did this book- if it is- sorry audible- I won't be purchasing them.

  • One Silent Night: A Dark-Hunter Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Sherrilyn Kenyon
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

While the world carries on unawares, Stryker, who leads an army of demons and vampires, is plotting an all out onslaught against his enemies - which, unfortunately for us, includes the entire human race. To avenge his sister, Stryker prepares to annihilate the Dark-Hunters. But things go awry when his oldest enemy returns. Enter his ex-wife. Zephyra.

A User says: "Narrator is TERRIBLE"
"the book is great- the narrator ruins it thoug"

I love the Dark Hunter series by Sherilyn Kenyon. I purchase what is available on audible and buy the rest where I find them.

This book was entertaining- as long as you are able to ignore the horrible accents and voices the narrator uses for each character. The characters are supposed to be gods or demigods and the narrator makes them sound like old men- HELLO THEY ARE IN THEIR PRIME- and it is completely disgusting to hear the main character (Stryker)come on to his wife- the love scenes were nauseating- all because the narrator isn't suited to narrate this type of book.

Now, back to the book- I had to listen to it in small doses because of above mentioned problem- but the book was great- I love how each of the Dark Hunter books has its own story and action- they aren't really sequels to each other- but there is a main story intertwined with all of there plots. I love how each book gives you updates on characters from past books and a look a possible future books by introducing new characters.

I give the book 5 stars- but rate the audiobook at 2 because of the bad narrrator.
