  • The Aegis Solution

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By John David Krygelski
    • Narrated By John David Krygelski
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In this, John David Krygelski's third and perhaps most powerful novel to date, he creates a spine-tingling story of suspense, drama, and intrigue. After the only child of the President commits suicide, President Walker proposes an institution where people who have lost all hope may enter. Aegis, intended to be a civilized alternative to suicide, is built and opened.

    A. Massey says: "Not the book I thought it would be"
"Narrator so awful I couldn't finish the book"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    I can't imagine.

Would you be willing to try another book from John David Krygelski? Why or why not?

Yes, I may have liked the book read by a different narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

This book was filled with long drawn out philosophical discussions between characters. These conversations are unbearable to listen to when the narrator uses the exact same voice with absolutely NO changes between characters - male, female, gangster, etc., they all have the same voice and tone. Very difficult to follow in long conversations. I couldn't keep track of who was talking. More than 10 hours into the book, I simply gave up.

What character would you cut from The Aegis Solution?

Winnie says: "Ending helps an otherwise underwhelming end"
"convoluted ending almost ruined the whole series"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

the twists in double twist at the end we're just too much.

Would you be willing to try another book from Joelle Charbonneau? Why or why not?

Absolutely. Overall I really enjoyed the series, I was just a bit disappointed by the ending.

Would you be willing to try another one of Elizabeth Morton’s performances?

Only if she narrated a book that I would be willing to suffer through poor narration in order to read. Her slow overannunciation drove me crazy. It did help to speed the narration up to 1 1/4 speed.

Was Graduation Day worth the listening time?

Yes. It was unique, and I enjoyed the characters. Speeding up the narration made it bearable to listen to.

  • Cursed: The Watchers Trilogy, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By S.J. West
    • Narrated By Christa Lewis
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Lilly Rayne Nightingale always felt like Fate was trying to wipe away her existence through a series of odd, near fatal incidences. Luckily, her best friend Will was always one step ahead of Fate preventing her from being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Will was her knight in shining armor until he broke her heart after their one and only kiss. On Lilly's first day of college, she meets Brand Cole. Intrigued by Brand, Lilly must decide whether or not she can give up her adolescent fantasy of being reunited with Will and allow Brand the opportunity to conqueror her heart.

Amazon Customer says: "I just ADORE this book!"
    "Very pleasantly surprised"
Would you listen to Cursed again? Why?

I don't reread books unless I need to remember a previous book before reading the next in a series. I finished the trilogy, so I won't reread.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cursed?

I loved Tara's interrogation of Bran.

Which character – as performed by Christa Lewis – was your favorite?

It was a tie between Tara and Malcolm.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Lily's vulnerability and innocence when she tried to entice Will.

    Any additional comments?

This was the best narrated book I've ever listened to.
