Set a few decades from now, Rainbows End is an epic adventure that encapsulates in a single extended family the challenges of the technological advances of the first quarter of the 21st century. The information revolution of the past 30 years blossoms into a web of conspiracies that could destroy Western civilization. At the center of the action is Robert Gu, a former Alzheimer's victim who has regained his mental and physical health through radical new therapies, and his family.

My hat goes off to the author for his techno-based copy but I just couldn't keep up with all the new inventions. The concept is good but it lost me half-way through and I skipped to the end - somehting I never do - but I couldnt wait 4 hours to find the point. Just not for me.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

This story was very well done and the voice was perfect for our heroine. I can hardly wait for number two in the series. Let's all say a little prayer that Miss Samantha stays in good health and of good cheer so that this little gem will continue:)

Former military cop Jack Reacher makes it all the way from snowbound South Dakota to his destination in northeastern Virginia, near Washington, D.C.: the headquarters of his old unit, the 110th MP. The old stone building is the closest thing to a home he ever had. Reacher is there to meet - in person - the new commanding officer, Major Susan Turner, so far just a warm, intriguing voice on the phone. But it isn’t Turner behind the CO’s desk. And Reacher is hit with two pieces of shocking news, one with serious criminal consequences, and one too personal to even think about.

Donna M Thomas, Author of From Pebbles to Pathways says: "My favorite Reacher story yet"
    "So glad Reacher's back!"

I must say, I never knew how much I missed Reacher. I was outraged to see "the great pretender" portray my 6'4" blonde and blue-eyed hero on the movie trailers. Having listened to every story and loving every minute of everyone, I was literary-ly starving for the real deal. Child delivered. Thank God!

As 35th in line for the throne, Lady Georgiana Rannoch may not be the most sophisticated young woman, but she knows her table manners. It's forks on the left, knives on the right - not in His Majesty's back….

The Royal Spyness novels never disappoint me. It's like a crisp iced tea on an oppressively hot summer day. Start at the beginning of the series if you can and work your way through this delightfully entertaining series. Rhys Bowen is a Master at surprising listeners - peeling the proverbial onion one glorious chapter at time.

They’re called "brilliants," and since 1980, one percent of people have been born this way. Nick Cooper is among them; a federal agent, Cooper has gifts rendering him exceptional at hunting terrorists. His latest target may be the most dangerous man alive, a brilliant drenched in blood and intent on provoking civil war. But to catch him, Cooper will have to violate everything he believes in.

On a brisk autumn day, a 13-year-old boy stands on the shores of the gray Atlantic, near a silent amusement park and a fading ocean resort called the Alhambra. The past has driven Jack Sawyer here: His father is gone, his mother is dying, and the world no longer makes sense. But for Jack everything is about to change. For he has been chosen to make a journey back across America - and into another realm. One of the most influential and heralded works of fantasy ever written, The Talisman is an extraordinary novel of loyalty, awakening, terror, and mystery.
