In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck.

A storm struck on the night Laura Shane was born, and there was a strangeness about the weather that people would remember for years. But even more mysterious was the blond-haired stranger who appeared out of nowhere - the man who saved Laura from a fatal delivery. Years later - after another bolt of lightning - the stranger returned.

Where does Lightning rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Type 5! A frightening and intense read that I didn’t want to end! There’s suspense, danger, love, heart-warming moments, cleverness, surprises, time travel, and a strong female character. How could you not love this book?! The huge amounts of imagination in this book make for a fantastically plotted novel!

What about Christopher Lane’s performance did you like?

    He did very well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes, absolutely!

    Any additional comments?

Some of the reviews I’ve read show that a lot of people didn’t like the way the author interrupted scenes by splitting them up. I personally enjoyed this. It kept it more suspenseful. It gave me an “Omg what’s going to happen?!!” type of feeling.
Laura Shane and Daniel = Perfection! There’s was a great love story more realistic than what is normally found in syfy books. The characters are so rich and intriguing.
    ***SPOILER***
While I love Daniel I just couldn’t help but root for Stefan to get the girl in the end. I thought that ending was very realistic and more profound than what is found in most books these days. Koontz didn’t do what most people do which is having a girl fall immediately head over heels in love with her rescuer. There was time for Laura to heal, move forward with her life (herself and her sons), and then gradually fall in love. It’s a much more caring and appreciative type of love.

Judas Coyne is a collector of the macabre. But nothing he possesses is as unlikely or as dreadful as his latest discovery, a thing so terrible-strange, Jude can't help but reach for his wallet. For a thousand dollars, Jude will become the proud owner of a dead man's suit, said to be haunted by a restless spirit. But what UPS delivers to his door in a black heart-shaped box is no imaginary or metaphorical ghost. It's the real thing.

Where does Heart-Shaped Box rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Top 10 for sure!

What other book might you compare Heart-Shaped Box to and why?

Any Steven King book-- for obvious reasons. This is my 2nd Joe Hill book and I loved it just as much as I did Horns. His writing style is superb. Hill’s character development is well thought out and it shows in his writing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Very creepy book about revenge from beyond the grave. How can you stop an enemy who isn’t even alive? How can you stop an enemy when they can control your mind?

    Any additional comments?

Judas Coyne is a big rock star jerk but I loved him as well as his weirdo girlfriend, Georgia. It was hard not to fall in love with this old-rock star/bad boy/gothic-chick-defiler. Craddock was a sadistic bastard with an evil step-daughter. I was glad they both got what they deserved in the end.

What made the experience of listening to Paper Towns the most enjoyable?

I truly believe that there’s nothing John Green can’t write that I won’t love. This book is very sincere and has many life lessons, as does all John Green books. I would describe this book as a “feel good book”. The dialogue between the friends was funny and immensely entertaining, as you would expect from a John Green book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I adored Quentin but I have to admit, I didn’t much care for Margo. I think her character should have been more likeable. That being said, I did thoroughly enjoy Margo’s intricate plans on revenge as well as her escape/run-away plans.
Ben and Radar were such enjoyable and loveable characters. They made reading Q’s journey so much more enjoyable.

What does Dan John Miller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's an incredible narrator and I look forward to listening to more of his narration in the future.

    Any additional comments?

However, I only gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 because of the ending. The ending was very anticlimactic and could’ve been much better. In my opinion, John Green dropped the ball on the ending.
Love, love, love all the road trip antics! The road trip with Lacey, Q, Ben and Radar was my favorite part of this book.
Oh, and the black Santa’s: PERFECTION!!!

What did you love best about Will Grayson, Will Grayson?

It was wonderful to watch Will and Will meet and change each other’s lives forever. John Green’s Will Grayson was my favorite of the 2 Will Grayson’s but they were both equally amazing characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Will Grayson, Will Grayson?

Every moment with Tiny! To quote Mean Girls: Tiny is almost too gay to function. I need a Tiny Cooper in my life.

Have you listened to any of MacLeod Andrews and Nick Podehl ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I haven't. I strongly recommend listening to the audiobook version of this book instead of reading it. The audio version gives this book so much more than reading it ever could. The narrators even sings all the songs! I just don’t feel that reading the book could be nearly as enjoyable as listening to it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    The ending with Tiny Dancer

    Any additional comments?

I truly believe that there’s nothing John Green can’t write that I won’t love. I literally laughed out loud almost the entire audiobook listen. My coworkers were looking at me like I was crazy while I was laughing out loud at one of the numerous hilarious quotes in this book.
And now I definitely need to read more my David Levithan now. His writing style was excellent and so incredibly funny!

What did you love best about Flowers in the Attic?

The plot, the setting, the whole story.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. The storyline is too good to look away.

What does Alyssa Bresnahan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This was the first book I listened to by her and I loved it. She did an excellent job!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Both!

    Any additional comments?

This was the first series I read as a teenager that really had depth to it. I read it 5 times between age 15 and 18 but haven't read it since. Since Lifetime is doing a remake of the movie I decided to get the audiobook. I forgot how much I LOVE this story!!!! And at age 35 there's so much more that I'm getting from this book than when I was 15 to 18 years old.

Would you consider the audio edition of Unbreakable to be better than the print version?

Eh, it's 6 one way, 1/2 a dozen the other.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kennedy. She was a typical character for a YA book but I really liked her.

What three words best describe Candice Accola’s performance?

    Good, okay, fine.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

If I had to describe the book in one word that word would be Ghostbusters.
It was a good start to the series for sure. Not great, but still very good and entertaining. For being YA it was good. If you’re an adult looking for a paranormal story you should keep looking. This is definitely YA paranormal. Nothing scary about it. But I’m a sucker for YA books so I really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to the remainder of the series.

Teardrop launches a new series from Lauren Kate, author of the #1 New York Times best-selling Fallen series. Haunting, mysterious, romantic and steeped in mythology, Teardrop is the epic saga of Eureka Boudreaux, a 17-year old Louisiana girl whose tears have the power to raise the lost continent of Atlantis . . . a world where everything you love can be washed away.

What did you like best about Teardrop? What did you like least?

I think with the premise of Atlantis you could do so much more with this series. The lost city of Atlantis has great mythology stories to it that could be used in the plot but wasn’t. The plot was too overshadowed by teen angst and drama. In future books I hope that the mythology of Atlantis is put more into the series.

Would you recommend Teardrop to your friends? Why or why not?

Based on this 1st book in the series, No I would not.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

She wasn't bad at all, it was the storyline that wasn't great.

Could you see Teardrop being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, not based on this first book.

    Any additional comments?

I’m still not sure about this one. I give it 3 stars. I thought it was supposed to be this great epic love story between Eureka and Ander but the love factor was just sort of blah. I totally get that Ander was already in love with Eureka and why. But I think Eureka’s end of that love story could’ve been told better in that it should’ve actually grown better. Their characters didn’t really spend enough time together for there to be a huge declaration of love. I think the premise of the story was good but it could’ve been told better. I’m hoping that the next book and remainder of the series (however long it will be) will get better.
I live in the New Orleans area not far from New Iberia so I really enjoyed the setting of this book.

Where does Champion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Definitely top 10!!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Champion?

    The ending of course!

Which character – as performed by Steven Kaplan and Mariel Stern – was your favorite?

Day's character. June's was good of course, but Steven Kaplan did a superb job with Day's character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending was fantastic! Marie Lu had a great twist on YA endings.

    Any additional comments?

I still have a ton of questions about what happens in the future with June and Day. But overall, the ending was fantastic!!! I can use my imagination to fill in the gaps. Marie Lu did a fantastic job with this series and with the ending. We all love series to have happy endings but this one had such a huge twist that you never anticipated.
Oh, and since June didn’t want Aden I’ll take him!
Now, if you need me you can find me, I'll be in the corner eating ice cream and crying.
