Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would not listen to Sandra Brown's 'Note to Reader' in the beginning as she gives the ending away!

What Rusty and Cooper weren’t prepared for was the discovery that they desired more than just survival….

Would you be willing to try another book from Sandra Brown? Why or why not?

Absolutely, she is a great author.... this is a re-release from the 1980's -so the reader should keep that in mind when deciding to purchase- however, the love story is timeless.

Have you listened to any of Joyce Bean’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. In those I've listened to, she delivers a solid performance. Her male characters sound like men and females sound feminine.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

This was a bit of a simple tale. Something a bit more complex with a bombshell twist & more romance would have made it irresistible. However, this was an interesting (yet gruesome) beginning premise with a light, feel good story.

    Any additional comments?

A few, minor descriptions of sex.

Personally, I wouldn't use a credit or pay full price for this but would snatch it up if found on sale - which I was able to for less than $5.

What did you like best about Dare to Love? What did you like least?

    *

It may just be me, but this is another run-of-the-mill rich man meets poor woman – everybody has issues. No one trusts each other, but what does it matter? Everything is kinky in the bedroom.

The only difference with this book is that the father of the adult children had two families at the same time and chose one over the other. The un-chosen families son is bitter about that.

I cannot add to the description so I encourage you to read the publishers summary because
it does more than I can to describe the book.

    Publisher Summary:

New York Times Best-selling Author Carly Phillips turns up the heat in her newest sexy contemporary romance series, and introduces you to the Dare family…siblings shaped by a father's secrets and betrayal.

Since finding out his father had another family on the side, Ian Dare swore to be the upstanding, responsible man his cheating parent had never been. When it comes to his relatives, he gives his all but in relationships he offers the bare minimum. But one glimpse of sensual Riley Taylor arouses his dominant and protective instincts and Ian is entranced. He will do anything to possess her…and does. But any future with Riley must include him extending an olive branch to the half-brother who is a constant reminder of the pain he'd rather forget.

Independent and always in control, Riley Taylor makes no apologies for choosing men carefully. Relationships have never been a priority and she believes herself hardened to domineering men - until she meets charismatic Ian Dare. He manages to turn a simple kiss into an all-out assault on her senses and when he takes control in the bedroom, she's stunned to discover she likes it. As their affair heats up, they soon realize they complete each other in ways neither imagined. But Riley's past is closer than she cares to remember, and her struggles with Ian's dominance might just cost her everything.

    Any additional comments?

The one bright spot is the narrator, who does a fantastic job with the characters in spite of being another, rather boring books in this genre.

What did you love best about It's a Waverly Life?

    *

As I listened to this book for a second time I thought I would skim through it to give a review. However, I was easily snagged in again by the great writing and narration.

It's a Waverley Life is smart, hilarious and very sassy. The relationships of Waverly to her coworkers, her boyfriend, her best friend, her dad and her friendly neighbor are all interesting, intertwine and work perfectly.

Waverley and her friends are at a point in their lives where they start to go in different directions: One is married and expecting, one is "empowered" in her promiscuity and then there is Waverley - a gossip columnist who is scared that her sometimes boyfriend may not stay her boyfriend anymore.

While this is Chic Lit, in my opinion, it touches on a few serious issues in a lighthearted and respectful way.

As Waverley begins to learn more about herself through her different relationships she begins to question and answer some of the views that she always had.

I would easily recommend this book to anyone. It is also easily rated five star in all three categories. Story, narration & overall. It is fantastic.

Notes: There there is an minimal talk about sex – six or seven lines about it. But other than that I have no warnings.

Underneath It All is the second in Cassandra Carr's Storm Series. While I like the first book I really found this to be an improvement. Maybe it was the more believable storyline or a stronger set of characters, I'm not sure. As I said I like the first one but found this one even more of an improvement.

Please don't let the cover turn you off. I'm not sure who picked out these models but they do creep me out just a tiny bit.

Good story, good writing a bit of a plot and lots of naughtiness.

The narrators were fun and I enjoyed how they played off of one another. Thumbs up

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

    *

*This book was a gift from the author and I promised to give it a review after I finished listening to it.*

This is book one in the Storm series. Audible does not recognize it as a series yet so if you decide to listen to them listen to this book before Underneath It All (Book 2.)

First of all don't let the cover art scare you off, the guy is a little bit creepy in my opinion

Sarah is a math geek and loves hockey - she lands a job with the Buffalo Storms.

Sebastian is a rookie player who is constantly hoping to receive a permanent spot in the NHL.

It is love at first sight for the both of them but Sarah has some trauma from her past that she needs to deal with. To complicate things even further, she is 10 years older than him and doesn't know why he would be interested in her at all.

It takes a wild, four months for them to become intimate and then the politics of working for the same team and mixing business with pleasure is another wrinkle in their relationship.

Sarah begins to let her guard down. Their relationship progresses with coming to terms with making their relationship public. Something happens to Sebastian and Sarah finds yourself in the reverse position.

If you are looking for a book that is 100% sex then you will be disappointed by this book. If you enjoy a romance with a bit of spice, then you will probably like this – there are some descriptive sections.

I enjoyed the dual door narration between a male and female performer. This doesn't always work but for this book it did.

    Notes: some descriptions of sex

Credit worthy/$ : Probably not for this one, the book falls between categories – it is not young adults but it is not contemporary smutty romance. The hockey talk is pretty true to life from my limited experience working in an athletic ticket office.

Would you listen to Kissin' Tell again? Why?

    .

Another great installment from the master of her craft, Lorelei James. After listening to the previous book in the series -Cowboy Casanova- I was a little concerned that (as it wasn't my favorite) the good stuff had taken it's course. I am so glad to be wrong!

Georgia meets, Tell the cowboy, as she is doing publicity around town for some events. She and Tell have known each other since high school. Where Tell felt that Georgia had taken advantage of him by asking for his homework etc.

Tell is wary of Georgia coming back to town. It was bad enough when they were in high school but she comes in with the plan.

These are so much fun that I don't want to spoil it for you by revealing too much. There is some hot action. There is a lot of give-and-take and several misunderstandings that result in a bit of dialogue.

Rebecca Estrella is what she is and does what she does. I have to listen to her at 1.25X-1.5X speed, it makes it a little bit better.

There are enough twists and turns. I'm still confused as to who this guy is and his relationship to the Mckays. I think he is a first cousins with the original (C & K) Mckays that we were introduced in the beginning and early books in the series,.

This book is pure romance and seduction with lots of bad words and many descriptions of intimacy.

Credit worthy/: I have enjoyed the series and I believe I bought this the day came out on audio. I'm completely content with my purchase.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Deadmistress?

One of the teachers at a private boarding school for girls has been murdered. An alumni, Susan, is out to investigate on her own and find out who done it.

This is a well-written, chick light book. It was delectable and a great nice, funny (not that murder is funny) ride that keeps the attention of the reader and I was guessing until the end.

The narration by Barbra Benjamin-Creel was charming and enchanting among a wide variety of characters.

While this was a nice book, I doubt that I will continue with this category of book only because my taste tends to run a bit darker.

Notes: nothing to worry about here.

This is a very sweet, romantic book about selling a house that has been in the family for many years many generations.

Allie is hired to the household of a family generational estate until it is sold. During that time she has a bit of a love triangle with the two brothers who are trying to sell it. Kip is always around and she likes him very much. However Robert, a globetrotter and businessman has her heart racing whenever she sees or speaks with him.

Allie is easily and quickly feeling the sentimental value that the matriarch of the family has for this home.

Relationships are quickly formed and decisions are made including Allie trying to find a way to keep the house from being sold without showing her intent.

Very nice, sweet romance for any audience. It is without any graphic descriptions, there is no premarital sex or inappropriate behavior. There are no swears or suggestive inappropriate situations or positions.

A really nice read especially during the holiday season.

Terry gives a great performance based on the many characters and the diversity of them that she is required. From the elderly matriarch of the family to adult men and women & children. They are all immediately recognizable based on her performance. If I shut this off for a few hours and had to dive back in, it only takes a few sentences for me to understand who is speaking and I am quickly caught up with where I left off. A fantastic performance.

Notes: no warnings here, light and sweet romance

Credit worthy/$: I like my books a bit more racy so I so I probably would not spend any money or a credit for this book. However I would highly recommend it to any of my friends or family without pause. It is worth the money or credit if this is your genre.

    Tangled

This book is told from a man's perspective so it is crude at best and raunchy at worst and I loved it!

It begins with the hero, Drew, having the "flu "and he begins retelling telling the story of Kate. But first we are treated to a series of his "dating" life and how he met Kate… Anything else will spoil

This is a funny book on top of being a great romance from the perspective of a playboy. The best line in the book for me was when they were debating whether one is masculine. He gives a long list of masculine people and the one that sent me to giggles with Hillary Clinton (like her or not it was hilarious answers.)

Sebastian York is a fantastic narrator definitely worthy of five stars. His men are men and his women do not sound like effeminate men. He does a fantastic job

Notes: Detailed descriptions of sex, strong language and NC-17 or older listening audience

However if you want a romance that eases you in and sweetly holds your attention then this is probably not for you.

Love, love, loved Tangled! In my opinion the narrator did a fine job telling the story. Several reviews are critical of her performance of male characters but I did not find that distracting at all. Sophia has a wide range of characters to perform from a grandfather and grandmother their sons and daughter and several children and I cannot find or think of one instance that was lacking.

I am from the coast, not North Carolina, and selection of this rings true from the small-town gossip (much nastier in real life) to the tourism industry.

Two people from away are moving to the island. The families have been there for generations and the push/pull from staying in the family tradition or moving away to pave a path away from the island. It was all very true to life.

This is the first in her series and the rest of them have already been added to my Wish List! I cannot wait to hear more about the Fletcher family.

Credit worthy/$?: I bought this more than a year ago and the author was not someone I have heard of before buying this book. I must have gotten a really good deal on it. Either way they are credit worthy and/or $.

This is far less intense then the books I normally listen to. It is more romantic than the descriptive however there are a few scenes that you will not want playing if your children are around.

    Notes: A few mature scenes

What did you like best about The Personal Experience Effect? What did you like least?

The Personal Experience Effect is another book that I was not especially interested in but was pleasantly surprised. I found the content to be very, very interesting. Jim Joseph has created a marketing experience from big companies to personal, individual experience.

The Personal Experience Effect was full of past and contemporary figures who have created their own marketing profile. This profile can be successful or not based on their actions. Joseph introduced failed marketing experience with successful one.

Thankfully he points out that he advises against taking controversial stands for those in Hollywood and other media and explains why this is not a good idea for most in that industry.

He also points out political figures and how they have market themselves. One of my favorites examples included James Carville. Joseph explains that how Carville's marketing persona and beliefs led him to be successful for his Democratic counterparts (working for P. Clinton.) Likewise, (this has always fascinated me) he has a successful marriage to Marie Matlin. His polar opposite in political policy- wife, who is an extremely smart, Republican contributor (working for 3 Republican presidents-Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43.)

They have both had tremendous success in their opposing political views-each work. Yet, they are happily married with a couple of kids. They have found a way to put their Personal Experience stands aside and have a successful family life because they can separate their personal experience from their public experience.

Once again, Jay has a professional, consistent performance. He is taking care to engage the reader.

Notes: This recording comes with a PDF file so one can highlight the areas they find most useful.

Credit worthy/$ : I would not use a credit on this as it is less than five dollars. However, it is just over two and a hours long. It is fantastic advice with real-world examples.
