Pi Patel has been raised in a zoo in India. When his father decides to move the family to Canada and sell the animals to American zoos, everyone boards a Japanese cargo ship. The ship sinks, and 16-year-old Pi finds himself alone on a lifeboat with a hyena, an orangutan, a zebra with a broken leg, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon it's just Pi, the tiger, and the vast Pacific Ocean - for 227 days. Pi's fear, knowledge, and cunning keep him alive until they reach the coast of Mexico, where the tiger disappears into the jungle.

I tend to find my time for enjoying books limited, and seems I never find enough time to catch up to my rapidly growing library. Yet, I loved this story so much after listening the first time, I encouraged my husband to choose this one for our long car trip. The storytelling and this reader are perfect. I will never forget Richard Parker, or Pi Patel.

    "A wonderful listen!"

Paul Giamatti brings this story to life! You feel as if you are falling into the psychosis of the drugs along with Bob Arctor. You feel Fred being pulled more and more outside himself.

    "Wonderful Reader!"
    Overall

The story is very good, but not quite original. I do look forward to the next installment eagerly, though!

The reader, Gerard Doyle did an awesome job bringing it to life! I will seek out more stories read by him.

While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, a baffling cipher found near the body. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, sort through the bizarre riddle, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci, clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

It's a fun labyrinth. It isn't a masterpiece, but if you're looking for something fun to listen to in your car, this is it!

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Kapila says: "6 titles in the series so far"
    "Prequel to Speaker"
    Overall

I would have to agree with the reviewers above. I thought "Ender's Game" was my favorite science fiction book ever (and I've read quite a few), until I read "Speaker for the Dead". You must read the first to enjoy the second, but you most definitely will enjoy the second.
