First thing I noticed was that the narrator makes the characters sound like they are in their 80's. Okay, maybe not 80's but 60's. It is difficult to get into when you can't really grasp the age of the people you are reading. I was really disappointed by this and will probably not listen to anything by the narrator again.
This is a good book, but the narrator really got on my nerves. She read the male parts as if they were whiny little 5 yo boys.
There is always that moment when you think, will it be better than the first? It's that second album from your favorite band and you have high hopes but will it hit the mark? Jet is the proverbial second album and I'm shocked (yes, really) to say I think it's better than Rule. Rule was great, but Jet is... more. The author did a great job of picking up where Rule left off, and flowing a continuous story about ALL of our favorite people and giving more depth, background and life to many of them.
And I don't know about ya'all, but I can't wait for a story about Rowdy.
The reason I love these books so much.. the author is simple and true. It's not a typical romance with the classical music playing or the expensive clothes or what have you. It is down to earth, simple and something I can relate to. Her descriptions aren't far fetched, her ideas are in the here and now and aren't balooned by some crazy fantasy that we all should have. It is life as it should be, with some twists and turns that keep you on your toes and she absolutely makes you fall in love with these people
