I LOVED her performance! Definitely one of the best narrations I've heard. She gave life to the characters and was just wonderful. I'm afraid to actually read the book now, knowing my own narration in my head won't compare to Kate's.
“The marks humans leave are too often scars.” - directly from the book.
Yes, if only just to listen to Lucy Gaskell!
Lucy Gaskell puts on a WONDERFUL, captivating performance of the strong female characters in the book.
The book itself is bloody brilliant (I'm using a English/Scottish accent now as I write this). I read many reviews about how the pilot jargon bogged people down, but to me it was just apart of the story, you don't really NEED to know the parts of a plane.
More than anything this book is about love, friendship, and sacrifice. It's funny and smart, but also painful. I want to re-read it again right now, but I'm still processing.
I have not, but I need Lucy Gaskell to do more audiobooks STAT.
Kiss Me Hardy
I've had a few hours to process this book, which is the only reason I finally decided to give it 2 stars as opposed to the 1 I was originally going to go with. Veronica Roth disappoints BIG TIME in her 3rd and final installment of the Divergent trilogy. And it had nothing to do with certain deaths (which to me was also a cop-out and Veronica Roth trying to establish herself among other YA authors). She goes so outside of the realm of the first 2 books, that it's a completely different story being told. Everything from the first two books are null and void, which is a big disappointment for fans of the first.
No, but definitely hesitant on Veronica Roth.
They are great, too bad they had a crap book to narrate! I really enjoyed listening to them!
My suggestion if you are a Divergent fan, skip Allegiant & create your own ending. It's honestly not worth your frustration & disappointment.
