Sanford has a talent when it comes to creating psychopath criminals. His antagonists are always complex and multilayered. He draws the reader/listener in and makes you intimately familiar with every facet of the character. He puts you in the killers' mind to the point that you feel that you could intuit his next move and then he shocks you with something that you never saw coming.
What I like least about the novel is that detective Davenport quickly falls into a sexual relationship with someone intimately associated with the crime.
Ferrone's voice reminds me of a middle age smoker. It's raspy and doesn't translate well into female characters.
Yes, I could definitely see this as a movie or tv series with Patrick Warburton playing Davenport.
