The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.

I enjoyed listening to this book. I haven't listened to a Grisham novel in several years. I thought it was an interesting story. It is a shorter book than what I expected but the listen time is clearly printed so that isn't a criticism. I would call this book an interesting look into litigation. There were no clear good or bad guys which made the book more interesting to me. I’d listen again given the chance, but I wonder if I should have picked a different Grisham novel to jump back in with.

In a novel that slams through one hairpin surprise after another, Lee Child unleashes a thriller that spans three decades and gnaws at the heart of America...and for Jack Reacher, a man who trusts no one and likes it that way, it's a mystery with only one answer the kind that comes when you finally get face-to-face and look your worst enemy in the eye.

This book has the power to radically change lives. At worst it will help you to understand the do nothing instinct that rules our lives. It is by far and away the most transformative book I've read. Please don't pass it by.

Lamar Pye has escaped from Oklahoma State Penitentiary, accompanied by his idiot cousin and a vicious but cowardly artist. To have stayed in prison was certain death, but his chances on the outside are not much greater: his excesses know no bounds - one killing follows another. But one murder brings his nemesis upon him: Bud Pewtie of the Highway Patrol loses his partner in a blood-soaked shoot-out with Lamar, and from that moment on, nothing will stop him from getting even.

I didn't realize that this book had been around for awhile. I was calling several people that like Cormac McCarthy and books that I enjoy and telling them I had a new guy they had to read. The joke is on me this book has been around awhile. All that being said it was a fantastic read. The plot make incredibly brutal characters seem logical and even a bit noble. I'd recommend this one to anyone that enjoys a bit of the darker side of people and characters.

It was a world gone wrong, one in which manufacturers thought little of manipulating product quality levels in order to save the smallest amounts, where savvy foreign business leaders were made to feel in control while they were taken for a ride by their partners, where entire manufacturing facilities sometimes vanished right into thin air... Welcome to Poorly Made in China!

This book will be the center point of least three discussions the week after you finish it. I’ve always had an opinion about manufacturing in China, but I’ve never quite been able to delineate my problems with it. This book gives an honest insiders opinion and is worth every minute.

A category four hurricane has swept the west coast of Florida, creating havoc, changing lives, and reshaping the ocean bottom. Well-known reefs and wrecks have been covered up, and new ones have emerged. The old woman who visits Doc Ford's lab late one night has a haunting story, of a loved one lost while rendezvousing with a German submarine off the coast of Florida 60 years earlier, of her belief that he was being blackmailed and that the storm has given her a second chance to prove his innocence.

This is another excellent book in this fantastic series. I'm not very critical and generally judge books by the litmus test of did it pass the time. This book sent the hours flying by. I’ve thoroughly enjoy this series characters and general mayhem. If you like the previous books then this addition will be a delight as well. If you’re trying to start here then I would say go back to the beginning it is more satisfying to get to know the characters from their introductions.

It's not the dead that seem strange to Quirke. It's the living. One night, after a few drinks at an office party, Quirke shuffles down into the morgue where he works and finds his brother-in-law, Malachy, altering a file he has no business even reading. Odd enough in itself to find Malachy there, but the next morning, when the haze has lifted, it looks an awful lot like his brother-in-law, the esteemed doctor, was in fact tampering with a corpse, and concealing the cause of death.

I absolutely was taken in by this book. I struggled at first with the place and culture, but very quickly I was drawn in and transported. I'm not very critical and generally enjoy what I consume, but this book went so very quickly. I enjoyed the characters, the dilemmas, and the conflict faced by these truly magnificent characters. Don’t pass it up.

Jack Reacher was alone, the way he liked it, soaking up the hot, electric New York City night, watching a man cross the street to a parked Mercedes and drive it away. The car contained one million dollars in ransom money. And Edward Lane, the man who paid it, will pay even more to get his family back. Lane runs a highly illegal soldiers-for-hire operation.

An excellent continuation to the Reacher series. I'm not overly critical and if you've enjoyed the previous selections then this one will be an excellent addition to your library. It is Reacher doing what he does, and the love interest was more plausible than in previous additions. I'd buy it again.
