This is really was a surprise normally I like to read books filled with action. However, this book was so charming that I couldn't help but really get drawn into it. Everything about this has been extremely well done I loved this book.
Folks Brian isn't lose and steam in this steampunk novel. For his second installment in the series it was another hit.
Wow this is a great first installment in what looks to be a very promising series. The time and setting are completely their own and the characters are likable. The adventure is a of the grand military epic adventure flavor and it's all very well done.
Adam Carolla has lead a very interesting life. This book was well written and keeps you laughing the entire journey. From Adam's journey you get the sense that if this guy can make it there still might be hope for you. Additionally, you can't help but admire the man's grit and honesty about his life and shenanigans. I'd pick up this book and save it for a time that your feeling a little down, because this is a great pick me up.
Normally I don't bother with books that are under 8 hours, but I have to confess this series is pretty awesome. The world of Warmachine has a depth and uniqueness all it's own. I don't play the table top game, but this book really made me fall in love with the world and I was very entertained.
The first book was great this one was indeed a bit of a departure, but not in a bad way. You get to see the world from a few different view points and it actually give the tale depth and scope.
I took a chance on this novel and it paid off big. I simply couldn't put this one down, if you like epic fantasy this is a must have.
This is an amazing book. Its been awhile since I could get really excited about a series. The Emperor's Blades is outstanding in every way. Its very well written and is set in a sweeping and imaginative world. The characters are likable and surprisingly deep. The action in this book is both fantastic yet gritty and real. This book really grabbed me and got me swept up in the story. Overall, I think this is a must have.
A Walk Among the Tombstones by Lawrence Block is really an outstanding novel. Some of the settings and investigative techniques may be a little dated, but it really is an awesome read. The plot to this one will get you hooked and keep you there. The only draw back to this novel is that the narrator was indeed really bad. I would love to see this work redone with someone with more range and skill. Mark Hammer makes all the characters sound like their 80. The whole book seems like it was recorded in a nursing home, which is a shame because this one is really quite exceptional.
I really enjoyed the entire series. This novel was no exception it was a great ending to a wild, dark, and enjoyable ride.
This series is amazing and very well written. Plot and setting very well done. As a New Yorker I felt the city was well represented and turned into a mystifying place. The Foe is hot on the heels of our hero's in this one and the odds seem stacked against them.
