This series ranks pretty high up there with the books I've listened to. It has all the things that capture my attention and make me want to continue to listen; intrigue, suspense, drama, bad guys doing bad things and good, big, gorgeous alpha guys coming to the rescue, strong heroines, romance and hot steamy sex.
I like that the whole "alien" thing is different; that the world is imaginative/different and there are different spins put on good vs. evil.
Yep, but couldn't; had to sleep sometime.
I have now listened to all of the books offered. Hope Ms. Lopez keeps those big guys coming.
I'm always up for a good listen from GW; her paranormal romances are the bomb & now I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
I am going to write this review to cover the entire series….I listened to every book and was drawn in more with each book. The Rock Chicks are strong and in most cases strong-willed, independent, beautiful, funny, mostly outgoing, faithful to their girls (& their guys, once their guys catch them), loyal and always in each others *s__t*/business. They have each others backs and always eventually get into trouble they need help with from their particular member of the "Hot Bunch" and his cohorts. Then there is the shy, sweet storyteller & writer who prowls the book aisles unsuspectingly, of the coffee shop . What a great ending twist in the telling of these stories and who put them to pen.
KA's Rock Chicks & Hot Bunch are wonderful characters, each with their own personalities and dedication to each other. Then there are some of the humorous, gruff and "helpful" secondary characters that, without them, these stories just wouldn't be the same.
I loved each and every book and couldn't wait for the next. Wish it all wasn't over but I'm sure KA will come up with something just as intriguing, fun, suspenseful, dramatic, romantic and alluring for those of us who will miss this series and feel the need to continue to spend endless, sleepless nights wrapped up in it all.
The narration of this series was also good; male and female voices distinct. I am grateful for the audio publishers attention to using the same narrator for the entire series.
Thanks again, KA. .
I really enjoy listening to JS Scott's books; character development is great, suspense, drama and romance is also good. Her books never disappoint. The narration was also well done.
KA is at the top of my favorite author list and couldn't wait for this series to come out. I listened to the first book "The Will" and wasn't too impressed, however, I just assumed (silly me) that it was lacking in KA's usual character-building, suspenseful, romantic, sexy, & dramatic storyline because it was the first in the series…not so. This one was even more lackluster; so disappointed. It's an ok story, but just ok, no real oomph or pizazz to hold my interest.
I listened to the entire book in the hopes that something would happen, it never did. Hope her next series that is due to be released the middle of this month on Audible is more in keeping with her usual stupendous story telling. I'm hoping KA doesn't get pushed down several notches on my best author list and she isn't just riding on the coattails of her earlier works.
The "Wanted Men" Series has become my new favorite. The first one with Gabriel & Eva was superb, but I really wanted Vincent & Nika to find happiness - they both so deserved it. The author is a great story teller and Mr. Schumaker is the wonderful varying voices of the males in this series; but I only gave him 3 starts because he really, really needs to hone is female voices; they really do sound like a man trying to make fun of a woman's voice (in my opinion). I can't wait for the next in the series to come to Audible.
I waited so very long for this book and had absolutely no doubt that Kresley Cole, one of my all time favorite authors, would hit it out of the park again. Her three books of the Professional, The Game Maker, Book 1 was one of only three books in the hundred of books I have listened to that I gave 5 stars to…this one just didn't do it for me except the last hour and a half of over 11 hours. I love to listen to stories about hunky alpha males, strong independent females, sexual chemistry and play, but over 10 hours of nothing much more than that was a bit much, even for me. The story just didn't have the substance that Book 1 had and I couldn't get enough of it. Maxim in no way compared to Alex in the charisma or hard-ass department. I would much rather have had the last 2 hours interspersed throughout the sex scenes. More drama, trauma, suspense could have upped my rating. I suppose the next book will be Dimitri's story; come on KC, please give us more to sink our teeth into.
I can say that this will not stop me from listening to Book 3 or any of KC's other books, but I am sorely disappointed.
I have listened to other audio books (Sons of Navarus) by Ms. Scott and she is one of my favorite authors. Her ability to bring "realism" into the plot and keep the focus on the main characters is great. She doesn't do all of her character building of the H & H in the beginning of the book but sprinkles it throughout the story to keep listeners, at least this one, intrigued and wanting to find out more.
Not only is she a very talented author but V. Meunch & C. Fox's performances were amazing. I loved that Ms. Meunch performed the female voices and Mr. Fox performed the male voices and there was no female trying to do male voices and vice versa. It sounded more real and believable. I wish that all audio narrators/performers would do the same.
This book 1 made me want to move on to the next, book 2 and I'm glad I downloaded all three books so that I could listen to them simultaneously.
Keep up the good work; can't wait for what's coming next.
YES. This was a well written, captivating, intriguing and SEXY story. I would not only recommend this book to a friend but to anyone who loves sexy alpha males and strong, stand-your-ground women. The entire story held me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next.
I liked that Aubrey was strong, stood her ground most of the time, quit playing games with Andrew but also was understanding and tender.
Well, of course, Andrew and Aubrey. I believe this is my first listen with Erin Mallon but Sebastian York never disappoints.
Most of the book was moving. There was very little in the book that didn't move me in one way or another.
Yes. However, even though I enjoyed the "story" and it made me want to go on to listen to Book 2 & 3, there was something missing. I'm not sure if it was the narration that was lacking or the storyline itself. It just didn't grab my heartstrings even during the times of angst, drama, romance and intimate exchanges. Hmmmmm…. not sure what it was.
The most interesting to me was how Sarah drew Jonas into her "web" of friendship and then more by her strength, her intrigue, etc. Not sure there was a least interesting aspect of this book.
I think they both did a good job. I had some problems as the book continued with Sarah's sometimes childish voice and childish dialogue.
Yes, and it has 2; the book ended with a "cliffhanger" of sorts so it had to continue on...
Again, there was something missing for me and as I write this review I believe it, in part, had to do with Sarah's dialogue…really childish at times and not at all like one would think a 24 year old law student would speak, even in her own head.
The narration was pretty good, especially EL's, but DL's wasn't bad. The story was pretty good. I have been waiting for Zach's story and wished there would have been more to it.. I fell in love with Seth more than anyone else in this book, KP really portrayed his "getting better & settling in to the family" so well. The story, for me had no flaws with the exception that it was too short and even though past characters/brothers/sisters/friends, etc were brought into this book I think it could have been more detailed; maybe the next one, except I think we've run out of characters to highlight in another book.
