I don't know. A Whole different story maybe. I feel like I wasted my $7 on this one.
I won't give up on listening to this genre. I just didn't like this particular book.
The Narrator is fine.
All of them, because I didn't like the story.
With Stephen King books, you never know what you're going to get. Some are fantastic, and some of them are less than interesting. But that's true with all authors. I will continue to listen to and read Stephen King's books because he has such a weird and strange imagination.
Worth listening to.
I can't think of any particulaar book to compare this book to, but I have purchased other thrillers that did not hold my attention as much as this one.
I like the way Scott Brick speaks. He sounds more like he is actually performing a role, than simply reading a book like the some other narrators.
The main character draws sympathy throughout the book, but the mostly when he deals with raising his two children as a single dad.
I've listened to four of Joseph Finder's books, and I've enjoyed them all. I will most likely purchase another one.
No. His use of the "N" word is very offensive to me, and if Mr. Massey used it in this book, I'm sure that he has used it in others. It doesn't matter that Mr. Massey is black. The use of the word is offensive to me, regardless of who uses it.
I couldn't get past Chapter 2, so I really can't say about the rest of the book. I only got as far as the second chapter, so if Mr. Massey had omitted that one word, the first two chapters would have been more enjoyable.
The performance was fine.
Characters were not the problem.
It would be very helpful if customers could be informed if a book contains the "N" word prior to making a purchase. I really would like to be refunded for this purchase.
No. I would not recommend this book to a friend because the tone of the book is all wrong. This woman was in prison, but to listen to it, you would think that everything was hunky dory, while staying there.
I would change the narrator.
The narrator did not give the right tone for the book. Her tone is more suited for a romance book.
The history "lessons" throughout the book so far have been annoying an unrealistic. I cannot imagine detectives spending so much time listening to someone ramble on about the history of a library and books when a murderer is on the loose. It seems like the Ms Fairstein wanted to write a history book instead of a murder mystery.
Compared to other meditation audiobooks, Alpha Female Guided Meditation is my favorite. It actually works to the point that my husband noticed a difference in me after a couple of weeks after starting this audiobook.
The only negative about this particular audiobook, is that it is not broken up into several chapters, so you cannot skip the introduction after you've listened to it the first time. It is recommended that you listen to this audiobook for 21 days, and each time, you must go through the introduction, which is very, very annoying.
