When Jeanette Brioche helped launch The Corner Spa in Serenity, South Carolina, she found a whole lot more than professional satisfaction. She discovered the deep and loyal friendships that had been missing from her life. But even the Sweet Magnolias can't mend the terrible rift between Jeanette and her family or persuade her that the holidays are anything more than a season of misery.

I simply could not finish this book. I really tried, but the narrator ruined the book for me. Her tone and Southern accent were just too hard to cope with. I read all three books before this one and am reading number 5 now, but this one was simply awful. I never quit reading a book part way through, but this is one that I did. Sherryl Woods, please NEVER use this narrator again.

On May 13, 1945, 24 American servicemen and WACs boarded a transport plane for a sightseeing trip over “Shangri-La,” a beautiful and mysterious valley deep within the jungle-covered mountains of Dutch New Guinea. Unlike the peaceful Tibetan monks of James Hilton’s best-selling novel Lost Horizon, this Shangri-La was home to spear-carrying tribesmen, warriors rumored to be cannibals. But the pleasure tour became an unforgettable battle for survival when the plane crashed. Miraculously, three passengers pulled through.

What a great read during Veteran's Day. This book will make you think about what our men and women face every day. I'm so thankful that I live in a country that has such courageous people in its Armed Forces. The author was able to capture the feelings and the setting of Shangri-la and make the reader feel that they were actually there. Enjoyed it.

How can that be? As they plunge into their research, tantalizing clues about a link between the Vikings and the legendary Toltec feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl - and a fabled object known as the Eye of Heaven - begin to emerge. But so do many dangerous people.

I always enjoy spending time with Sam and Remi Fargo, and this book was no exception. Although it wasn’t as good as previous books, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Clive Cussler has a unique ability to write with other authors and still make the books seem like they are totally his. If you need a quick, entertaining read, then grab this book, a cup of coffee or tea, and sit down for a spell. You will be thoroughly entertained and satisfied at the end.

I absolutely loved this series. I hate to see it end. Yes, the series if LONG, but it is well worth every minute. One of the best series I have read in a while. Michael Sullivan did a great job in making his characters real and believable, even though you know they are pure fantasy. I don’t give too many 5 star ratings, but this series deserved them.

Acclaimed author Michael J. Sullivan created instant best sellers with his spellbinding Riyria Revelations series. This first volume introduces Royce Melborn and Hadrian Blackwater, two enterprising thieves who end up running for their lives when they’re framed for the death of the king. Trapped in a conspiracy bigger than they can imagine, their only hope is unraveling an ancient mystery - before it’s too late.

What a great read! I am thoroughly enjoying the trials and tribulations of Royce and Hadrian as they conquer the evils placed before them. This is one of those series that I go right from one book to the other and it has been so good that I got the audible version and the book and have been using both so I don’t miss anything, no matter where I am. Great fantasy, great read!

What a good read. I am reading the books in chronological order and I have to say that they are VERY interesting reading them this way. This book allows the reader to more fully understand the relationship between Hadrian and Royce, as well as Gwen and others in the series and at the same time delivering a great read. Michael Sullivan definitely knows how to spin a story and make it interesting. I have gone straight into the first book of the Riyria Revelations and it seems like it will be just as good as the Riyria Chronicles. Glad I found this author.

Michael J. Sullivan garnered critical raves and a massive readership for his Riyria Revelations series. The first book in his highly anticipated Riyria Chronicles series of prequels, The Crown Tower brings together warrior Hadrian Blackwater with thieving assassin Royce Melborn. The two form a less-than-friendly pairing, but the quest before them has a rare prize indeed, and if they can breach the supposedly impregnable walls of the Crown Tower, their names will be legend.

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am probably one of the few that is reading the series in chronological order. I thought The Crown Towers was well written and the characters fully developed and delightful. It was a little slow getting to the relationship between Royce and Hadrian, but was well worth the wait. I also enjoyed reading about Gwen and the girls. Together the two story lines make for a great read, entwining near the end. I have already started the Rose and the Thorn and think it’s going to be as enjoyable as the first book.

What a sweet story. This book was able to keep my attention with the story line while at the same time keeping me intrigued. Since I have family that fought in wars past, the historical part of the book was really sentimental and parts made me want to cry. Heroes aren’t just big names, they are people we meet in our everyday lives, and Heather Burch brought that back to our attention. I definitely give this book two thumbs up.
