In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

Great audio series here that was very hard to stop listening to. It took me a minute to get used to his voice being southern and having a different charm, but after 10 minutes you can't help but to feel more positve and driven. I love his corny jokes / humor, felt like laughing at my grandfather! Wife is listening to it now - I'll be recommending this book to a lot of friends as I think it really can lift spirits and put you on a more positive path!

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

Was recommended to me by a friend and came with a warning that I had to get past chapter 8 before I could give up on it. Best recommendation I've had in awhile, first few chapters are slow, but once it gets going hold on! Start with this book as it's part one in the three part series. This book doesn't end on a cliffhanger and wraps the story up well in my opinion - so if your going to read just one this is the one!

To make the journey into The Power of Now you need to leave your analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. Access to the Now is everywhere - in the body, the silence, and the space all around you. These are the keys to enter a state of inner peace.

    "Monotone and Boring"
    Overall

I'm sure this book has a good message as i could relate to parts of it, but wow is the author/reader super boring and monotone sounding. I felt as if I needed to be on something to be at the level he was at as he was reading it. There is also a "Chime" that seems to be the segway to new thoughs / chapters - also very annoying. Couldn't handle it, had to stop after 2 hours - maybe I'll read this one sometime.

It has been passed down through the ages, highly coveted, hidden, lost, stolen, and bought for vast sums of money. Fragments of this Great Secret have been found in the oral traditions, in literature, in religions and philosophies throughout the centuries. In this audiobook you will discover the Secret, and you will learn how to have, do, or be anything you want.

This book was referred to me by a family member that stated "the author can get a little out there at times, but worth the read". Boy, was he right. Great book, extremely motivational, eye opening, etc... Just loved it!

Definitely a book geared towards making you an interrogator. Had it's highs and lows, but mostly lows in my opinion. I'm prior military and think with the author's military background it made it tolerable but maybe dry for others...
