The expedition to the Crab Nebula has returned to Earth and the news is not good. Out among the stars, a million systems have fallen under Broan domination, the fate awaiting Earth should the Broa ever learn of its existence. The problem would seem to allow but three responses: submit meekly to slavery, fight and risk extermination, or hide and pray the Broa remain ignorant of humankind for at least a few more generations. Are the hairless apes of Sol III finally faced with a problem for which there is no acceptable solution?

This being the second book I will assume that if you have read the first one then you like it and this review is sorta not needed but I will say a few things, if you want to know more go to my review of the first book.

This book continues the story nicely and you are hoping that the Humans get things done, you are setup for the next book in the series which is currently the last book (4-29-13) as of now but I hope there are more to come.

In this book it is confirmed that the Broan empire indeed controls 1 million stars or more and things aren't good for the Humans if they find out they are in the neighborhood so lets hope things go the right way.

A missile has no conscience. It is an inanimate steel object: cold, emotionless. But once ignited, it burns white hot inside, and cannot be shut off. Fired in combat, it has but one objective: the total destruction of its intended target. And it will only stop when its objective has been achieved, or it runs out of fuel. Not all missiles are made of steel. North American Federation Navy Commander Evan Gabriel thought it was over. Returning from a mission on the far-off world of Eden, he finds that Mars is in a state of political upheaval.

This is the last book in the series and if you read the last one you can pretty much have to get this one because this is the end and it has a really good ending.

I mentioned in previous reviews the narrator isnt the best and I am still not used to him now so that is a warning to anyone reading this review who hasnt started the series but the story is pretty good here so give the free prequel a try, if its still free and go from there.

The way this plays out is great and not how I expected including the ending but its great, I dont know what could be said here since there is a free prequel you can probably just get that and see how it is, if you like that then you will be good with the rest

He and his surviving team must again travel across the galaxy, this time to the world where he lost his naval command, and his original team, so many years ago: Eden.

If you liked the last book then you pretty much have to get this book and go on with the story so as the title says its the return of Gabriel and if you read the last book then you know the world.

This story is different from the last one but all of them have something that will come together in the end of the last book so pay attention to the characters names.

Now there is some really cool tech in here the suites they wear are like invisible suites and they use them really well, I want one of those.

I think there isnt much to say about the second book in a series if you liked the first one you will probably like the rest

Evan Gabriel wasn't always a feared and respected North American Federation Navy Commander. Before dangerous missions to the ice-bound planet of Poliahu, the deadly jungle world of Eden, and politically corrupt Mars, he was a simple recruit, fighting to make his mark in the elite Naval Special Forces…and was part of a top-secret military experiment that would change his life forever. Zero Point tells the tale of a young man faced with difficult choices and dangerous trials.

If its not free then thats strange cuz its in the title but anyways this was a great short story that gets you started in the series and I really liked it

The narrator isnt the best it takes a while to get used to him but he does talk strange sorta like talking to a child or something for some reason after I finished the whole series I was just not used to it

The story is nice it does a good job at setting you up in the world but not the story that comes in the next 3 books so read the reviews of that to see what they are about but if you like this then you will like the next 3 books

The Camp Ryder Hub is broken. Lee is nowhere to be found, and his allies are scattered across the state, each of them learning that their missions will not be as easy as they thought. Inside the walls of Camp Ryder, a silent war is brewing, between those few that still support Lee's vision of rebuilding, and the majority that support Jerry's desire for isolation. But this war will not remain silent for long.

Well if you got to this point you probably really liked the series so this is sorta a review on how the series ended.

I hope there are more books that continue this story or maybe what happened at the military command to cause the events of this book to happen, sending someone to kill Lee and someone taking over command because the president couldnt be found and he was the only one in the chain of command who was there so he was the guy - he causes problems and seeing what happened there would be pretty cool.

This series is really good and only lacking in a few areas IMO like a little more interactions with more groups of people or building things its mostly the surviving.

I really liked these books having read and watched TWD I was ready for more of zombies so this fit right in, I will be looking for more survival/zombie/horror books in the future.

This is the second book and really this series is a whole continuous story that could have been 1 whole book but it would have been really long, the ending of the books arent something of an ending its something that you really want to read more to find out what happens next and Audible knows that so they included the first chapter to this book in the end of the first book and the 3rd book in the end of this one and so on.

if you liked book 1 then you know you will like this one, in fact you should probably just get the other 2 books since its just more of the same and if you liked that then why not.

In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....

    Story

This is a series of books that are meant to be read one after another as in the story stops and picks up in the next book, almost at the same point its not something that is sorta the same - so that being the case this review will sorta be the whole review of the series while the other books will have reviews just shorter ones.

The zombies in this series can sorta plan ambushes and sneak attack which makes for a more interesting zombies or "infected" as they are called, its not like you are used to seeing in movies or TV shows like TWD - the infection effected about 90% of the population and its unclear if there are any immune people but its unlikely and the other 10% are just the people who survived and they can get infected as some do but it takes direct blood to open wound contact or something close to that just getting blood on you isnt enough but if you swallowed some you would probably get infected.

This series starts off without much of a back story for the main character but as you get into it you pick up on things that help you understand who he is better, Lee is in a bunker that the government built for him and its his job to go into it when they tell him to and he is given a set of instructions to follow which include that if he looses commutation with command he is to wait 48 hours and open a special box that has more instructions in it and to wait 30 days before leaving the bunker after the last contact with command.

Well to make a long story shorter he leave a little early because of what he is told is happening outside, which is crazy stuff.

Lee gets out and things keep going wrong for him and its like whats on the board in his bunker "The only easy day was yesterday" really is his motto as things progressively get worse for him as his plans keep failing.

There are a few things I think were missing from the series or things that should have been done differently but for the most part I really liked it.

This is a good story and at times you think you know whats going to happen next and you are wrong, people get killed that you didnt think would and everything like that - I liked the whole series and I hope that its not the end I would like to see more books in the same world that continue this story because there are some unanswered things a whole other story happening with the command of the military that isnt in contact with Lee and I hope it gets written

I liked the first 2 books lots and that's why this one isn't a 2 star because it should be when rated with the other 2 - its not that its a bad book, it just seems incomplete and ends with no ending at all, like there is another book but as of this time there isn't (11-24-13) and I can't see a reason to end it like this at all.

Not much of a review because if you liked the first 2 books then you will like this one except for the non-ending that is

No electricity. No running water. No food. No end in sight. If life as you knew it changed in an instant, would you be prepared? In A. American's first novel, Going Home, listeners were introduced to Morgan Carter, the resourceful, tough-as-nails survivalist who embarks on a treacherous 250-mile journey across Florida following the collapse of the nation's power grid. Now reunited with his loving wife and daughters in this follow-up to Going Home, Morgan knows that their happiness is fleeting, as the worst is yet to come.

I like this book like the first one and now that Morgan is home he is the only one with power because of his solar setup and he has plenty of food since he stored most of it for something like this so he and his family would be safe.

Some people don't like that and really want him to share so he has to explain it a little, you will probably not expect hat happens to happen or how it happens so I wont ruin anything for you but if you read book 1 you can probably figure it out.

This is a really good book almost better than the first book and I would love to tell you to read this and book 3 but like I said before if you are the type of person who doesn't like unfinished series this one is probably not for you - at least at the time of this review (11-24-13) it is unclear if there is going to be another book but I will have to assume so because I really don't understand the ending of book 3

First let me say that this is a series of 3 books but there must be a fourth one that's not yet written at the time of this review (11-24-13) I would like to tell you to read this but be warned that book 3 ends with no real ending and there isn't at this time a book 4 so if you are one of those people that doesn't like that sorta thing just wait and see if book 4 comes out

I must say that I was not expecting this to be so good but after listening to the sample I thought I would have to give it a try so I did and I was glad. This is a really plausible story and I would believe that something like this is in the works now.

Without ruining anything you know the power is out everywhere and most all electronics and cars don't work so people are screwed for the most part unless you planed for something like this and prepared by storing stuff.

The only thing that kept this from a 5 star rating was the way some things were handled, I understand its the authors story to tell but there were some things that seemed obvious to me to avoid and I am not a prepper like the character in the book.

Morgan is the buy and he has to get home to his wife and 3 girls which is 250 miles away and he has to walk, so you can assume that something crazy is going to happen on the way, even if the "event" or whatever it should be called didn't happen like in this book walking 250 miles home you are probably going to encounter some crazy stuff so now that there is no real communications and most all cars don't work no power people are acting really crazy.

From the title of book 2 you know he gets home so that's no real surprise but you will probably not expect what happens to happen, but like I said in the beginning of the review - read below again.
