Detective Alex Cross is a family man at heart--nothing matters more to him than his children, his grandmother, and his wife Bree. His love of his family is his anchor, and gives him the strength to confront evil in his work. One man knows this deeply, and uses Alex's strength as a weapon against him in the most unsettling and unexpected novel of James Patterson's career.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone that doesn't care if the story is wrapped up at the end.

What could James Patterson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

There were several mysteries going on at the same time, which were entertaining, but then the story stops with his family with no resolution. Who edited this book and didn't notice a. the young actress that married the lawyer said she kept the wedding quiet because her mom would want a big wedding and later said her parents were dead, b. How did they get a tractor in the basement.

Have you listened to any of Michael Boatman and Tom Wopat ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't know, the performance was very good.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I want to know how things end, this is confusing and not finished.

    Any additional comments?

I've always loved JP's books but this was flat.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Would you listen to Doctor Sleep again? Why?

    Yes, well written, good characters.

What other book might you compare Doctor Sleep to and why?

I can't say it's like anything, but perhaps Joyland.

Which character – as performed by Will Patton – was your favorite?

I loved the little girl, Abra and Dan.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's very long but yes, it draws you in and you want to get back to it. I was also sad to hear it end because I loved the characters so much.

    Any additional comments?

    Enjoyed this book very much.

One of the greatest mystery thrillers ever written, Wilkie Collins's The Woman in White was a phenomenal best seller in the 1860s, achieving even greater success than works by Charles Dickens. Full of surprise, intrigue, and suspense, this vastly entertaining novel continues to enthrall audiences today.

Where does The Woman in White rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Different but good

What did you like best about this story?

Lots of twists and turns, never knew where it would go next.

What about Josephine Bailey and Simon Prebble ’s performance did you like?

They could make you believe the story, and different voices for different people makes it easier to follow while listening instead of reading.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not a moment, I was just fascinated to hear how people lived day to day life then, and particularly interesting that it was written during that period, if I understood correctly.

After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story: his sister, the legendary supermodel Lula Landry, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it a suicide, but John refuses to believe that. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man.

Not one scene in particular, but I really enjoyed the interaction with Robin.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YES

For those who enjoyed Amazing Gracie or Merle’s Door, here is a completely new tale of a rescued dog who becomes the unlikely purveyor of a powerful gift. What if most people have it wrong, and miracles are not the exception but the norm? Flash’s Song is the true account of how one person discovered the secret of miracles. It is a story of the power of laughter, the power of family, and, ultimately, the power of love to get us through life.

Cindy says: "I LOVE a good dog story, this isn't one of them."

What would have made Flash's Song better?

It was quite unremarkable. I bet Flash was a great little dog that brought much joy to her and I'm sure she had a wonderful relationship with her dogs, but I kept waiting for something to happen to make it stand out, and it doesn't.

Would you ever listen to anything by Kay Pfaltz again?

No. She shouldn't pass her dogs off as service animals to get in places they shouldn't be.

What about Gayle Hendrix’s performance did you like?

She tried to make it interesting

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. As a healthcare professional, the author goes off into this weird science, and tries to pass it off as true.
