Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

    Overall

I cant even say enough good things about this book. The story is wonderful, it is well written and the narration was fantastic. I want these main characters to be real people, I love them. I wish I could meet the author she has got to be a special person to have this great a story in her head.

If you like Amy Tan books you should get this one. I dont think the publishers summary was the best for this particular book. Though this book has a different flavor than most of Amy Tans other books it is still just as good. She is such a good story teller and I thought she was wonderfull narrating this book. It is a good one

An unforgettable tribute to the powers of imagination and the resilience of childhood, The Blue Notebook tells the story of Batuk, a precocious 15-year-old girl from rural India who was sold into sexual slavery by her father when she was nine. As she navigates the grim realities of the Common Street - a street of prostitution in Mumbai where children are kept in cages as they wait for customers to pay for sex - Batuk manages to put pen to paper, recording her private thoughts and stories in a diary.

"wish i would have been warned"
    Overall

This really is a well written book but I must say that no matter how sad the reality of the story was and how the truth of this matter should always be told I cant help but wish I was warned how graphic this audiobook is. To someone who dislikes graphic sex scenes BEWARE this is from one "page" to another nothing but graphic violent sexual abuse with children. so I wouldnt have bought it if I would have known.

In 1949, four Chinese women drawn together by the shadow of their past begin meeting in San Francisco to play Mah Jong, invest in stocks, eat dim sum, and "say" stories. Nearly 40 years later, one of the members has died, and her daughter has come to take her place, only to learn of her mother's lifelong wish and the tragic way in which it has come true. The revelation of this secret unleashes an urgent need among the women to reach back and remember.

One of my favorite books totally ruined by the narrator. I feel like I could pull my hair out trying to get through this audiobook, and yet I had to keep on listening for the story. Who OKAYED this narrators finished project. I am so astonished and HORRIFIED by the poorly overdone characters. BOO HOO!!!
