I would definitely recommend this book. It is somewhat of a short read but kept my attention.
I wasn't necessarily in the edge of my seat after I had figured out the ending before it happened. The only reason I didn't give it five stars. Not going to be a classic or anything like that. Just some good tension.
I definitely enjoyed the two performers.
That would be a spoiler.
Sorry but this story is dated and not much of a thriller. Great narrator but boring story. I wish I could have liked it.
Since this issue is such a hot topic nationally, it seemed appropriate to listen to this play which recounts the final arguments over the validity of California's Proposition 8. This play seems much like what is going on right now in the Supreme Court deciding on whether the nation should embrace the right for LGBT community to have the same access to marriage that heterosexuals are allowed. I feel as if this play is a compelling listen to anyone whom is wanting to be informed of the struggle of gays and lesbians for equal rights. Kudos goes out to LA Theater Works and Audible for presenting this program.
I never got to see this play live. This is the next best thing. I'm very glad I purchased this title. The story is compelling and very well written. I've read plays before, but this stars the original Tony award winning cast. Great way to spend 3 hours. Listening to a little bit of culture.
I LOVED this book. A non-stop thrill ride through the mind of an incredible character. I listen to many mysteries but this was one of the best I've listened to in some time. I loved these characters and the narration was spot on.
This is my first book by David Baldacci. I have always been intimidated to try the others because they were part of a series. I don't care to jump in the middle of a story and I couldn't figure out which series to begin. So this book was perfect for me. A brand new character in a brand new book.
Definitely George Newbern. I got this one because of his great narration of "Becoming Steve Jobs".
No not from this author.
I love his voice and characterizations.
No... This is definitely a stand alone book. I'm not that invested in these characters.
There is a lot of back round of the psychiatric field and modern hospital policy; not so much emphasis on the mystery. It's not a bad book, just not a memorable one.
As I listened to this on my iPhone 6, I was so impressed by this well written and insightful account of Steve Jobs life. An amazing person who was catapulted to stardom at a very early age, he is shown as a flawed but real person. I only know how I behaved at 24 and I know that what Jobs achieved is a rarity. I'm not a techie, but I really enjoyed this audiobook.
This was an ok mystery. Not worthy of 5 stars but also not worthy of the one star review it previously received. The narration is very good. I listened to this in one sitting. Good way to pass a rainy day.
Please read the other reviews before spending a credit on this dismal sequel. I enjoyed the first book so much that this was a severe disappointment.
Uses the basis of a 12 step program and tries to reinvent it. She uses gratitude, spiritual awakening, etc ( common terms in 12 step programs) rearranges them and makes a "new" 10 step program that excuses addictive behaviors. Sorry honey but I tried your way and I got drunk again. Wish I was still able to return this title and can't.
I never read this book in school nor had I seen the film. What a great performance and novel. I had a feeling it would be great but I am throughly overwhelmed. This has got to be the best audible book I've ever listened to. The writing was above superb!
