When NYPD Red arrives at a crime scene, everyone takes notice. Known as the protectors of the rich, famous, and connected, NYPD Red is the elite task force called in only for New York City's most high-profile crimes. And Detective Zach Jordan is the best of the best, a brilliant and relentless pursuer of justice. He puts professionalism above all, ignoring his feelings for his partner, Detective Kylie MacDonald, the woman who broke his heart when they first met in the academy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book. It is somewhat of a short read but kept my attention.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I wasn't necessarily in the edge of my seat after I had figured out the ending before it happened. The only reason I didn't give it five stars. Not going to be a classic or anything like that. Just some good tension.

What does Edoardo Ballerini and Jay Snyder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I definitely enjoyed the two performers.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    That would be a spoiler.

My name is Simon. I’m 10 years old. I’m a serial killer. Robert Stern (Rupert Penry-Jones), a successful defense attorney, doesn’t know what lies in store for him when he agrees to meet a new client in a derelict estate on the outskirts of Berlin. Stern is more than surprised, when his old love interest and professional nurse Carina (Emilia Fox) presents him a ten year old boy as his new client. Simon (Jack Boulter), a terminally ill child, who is convinced he has murdered many men in a previous life.

The book was okay but no remarkable pulp piece. What gives this book a boost is the full cast narration. If the production had limited the music to 5 seconds rather than 30 seconds at the end of each chapter, it would have been better.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

This book really caught me by surprise. The major reason for my reading it was that it was to be released as a movie soon. I didn't know what it was about, but was pleasantly surprised as to the format, content and twists in these stories. It was a great and fun ride to take with the two performers. I really recommend this audiobook!!!

Where does Mr. Mercedes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the better Stephen King books. And as far as Audiobooks, definitely one of the better ones I listened too.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The story moved along briskly and definitely page turning towards the end.

What does Will Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked his voice and characterizations.

If you could rename Mr. Mercedes, what would you call it?

    Under the Blue Umbrella

    Any additional comments?

This book is definitely worth a credit. Long enough to be intricate but not too long. King is back to real suspense.

Narration: Very well done EXCEPT for the voice of Lestat. The narrator was supposed to inflect a French accent but instead opted for a Transylvanian one.

Overall: The story is fine but could have used a nice editing job by deleting four chapters in the middle. I really did not need to hear for 1 1/2 hours of the "13 levels of evolution"... Really? This is a vampire story., but Rice manages to squeeze in her own opinions of creation and the the purpose of good and evil. I don't mind a good philisophical discussion but not while I think I'm reading a fictional vampire story.

This book takes place 6 months after the first Private. I really enjoyed the characters and the "co" writer is the same as the first one. Unfortunately the next books have a different "co" writer and I hope they keep true to the characters. I recommend that Private is the first book you read to get to know the beginnings of these people. This book can stand alone but it is much more fun knowing the history. Good book overall.

Ten years after the publication of Wicked, beloved novelist Gregory Maguire returns at last to the land of Oz. There he introduces us to Liir, an adolescent boy last seen hiding in the shadows of the castle after Dorothy did in the Witch. Bruised, comatose, and left for dead in a gully, Liir is shattered in spirit as well as in form. But he is tended at the Cloister of Saint Glinda by the silent novice called Candle, who wills him back to life with her musical gifts.

I read all the reviews about the writer being a poor narrator. I felt just the opposite. First off I had to read the sequel. I felt what better person to give life to his characters than the author himself. It was he that came up with the characters and he would know the way he intended the characters to sound. The story itself is not bad. I was thrilled to see a new outlook upon the Oz story. This time seen from the male point of view. I do recommend this book and the author as narrator.

Excellently narrated, this book was very polished. I enjoyed the many plots and subplots that were happening simultaneously, Can't wait to read the next ones,

Everyone thinks Emmy Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emmy has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire. Not even Emmy's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison "Books" Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

What made the experience of listening to Wicked the most enjoyable?

This was a long book and was enjoyed over a couple of days. The narrator does a superb job in telling the story.

What other book might you compare Wicked to and why?

Definitely NOT the Wizard of Oz!

What does John McDonough bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His inflections and character development with his voice over the course of the book was magnificent!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh hysterically at the end with all the miscommunication.

    Any additional comments?

If you are expecting WICKED the Musical... you have the wrong book. The musical was based on characters in this book. But in no way is it the definitive narration. This is an adult book. True it is a fairy talk, but an adult one. With political and religious implications. I highly recommend this book for adults, who can put the silly musical behind them. There is no "Defying Gravity" song in this book!
