When I first heard this book a few months back I said to myself, "If I had learned these principles years ago I would have been able to re-shape and forgo so much of suffering, bumps and emotional bruises me life has gone through." In short this is timeless masterpiece and should be revisited time and time again. I cannot understand the naive and disinterested comments I have read concerning this classic.
Love this man's stuff, always encouraged and blessed by his practical way to keep me on track a definite worthwhile listen.
I was encouraged and blessed listening as well as reading along with this book. Chop offers some amazing insights and some practical break down of a very important subject which is going around us all the time. We all would do well to pick up this book and add it to our collections. I definitely keep this one and make it a permanent re-listen and resource to go back to time and time again.
I was amazed at how this book resonated within my spirit. Especially the chapters having to do with "learning to speak woman." In short this is a must listen, I was a bit confounded by an earlier review ridiculing this book that review could not be more wrong. This is a man revolution book in the spirit of Bly and John Eldredge, 5 stars.
For all those who are on a pursuit of personal development and desiring to understand the intricacies of the human heart, essentially why we are broke and how we get fixed. This is the audio book of books. I had never heard of Bill Ferguson until I audible but he is up there as one of my personal greats. Simple but profound.....K.I.S.S. Keep it simple student!
I finished the book and I am trying to actually think about what I gleaned from the book other than a southern twang. McLaren is a supposed postmodern guru and he has a chili cooking sounding cowboy explaining the precepts of faith. The book would be a good read for a novice in religious studies but in my opinion this is not for the seasoned vet looking to add a deeper understanding of faith. Thumbs down
I came across this book about five years ago and it was a treasure, a feather in my cap, it introduced me to a whole new way to understand how to commune with God. Recently I downloaded the audio and gave it a listen and found it to be even more valuable the second time around. Upon its conclusion, "Audio has hoped you've enjoyed this program...." I restarted the book all over again. A must and most important read for any serious person who wishes to deepen their conversational relationship with the Lord. SIX STARS no joke
